photoblog image A Short Walk In The Grampians #5

A Short Walk In The Grampians #5

We are starting to ascend the escarpment to get to the plateau.

I find a pretty butterfly on the ground litter under the trees, and Na has found a flowering Mountain Teatree shrub.

Soon we will be above the tree-line.

Magnifique portrait de cette dame.
Ray: Ma femme, Na, a l'air différent dans chaque photo que je prends, Martine.
Lovely photo's - both!
Ray: Thank you, Elizabeth.
I thought I had been to the top of AU on Mount Kosiosco but there were still trees.
Ray: Mt Kosciuszko [usually spelled in Strahya without the "z"] is the highest hill in that continent, Mary, and is in the same mountain range but several hundred kilometres NE of The Grampians. It has a different climate, and different flora...mainly snow eucalypts there, but none in The Grampians.

[You have been around a bit in Strahya...]
the touches of yellow on the wings are very pleasing to the eye, Ray.
Ray: Yes...quite a pretty Flutterby, Ayush.

Two very pretty things. I hope your "sherpa" has "essential supplies" in her rucksack - perhaps some cake and a few tnnies?
Ray: If She had cake and tinnies then She scoffed 'em while I was not looking, Alan

Above the treeline - things are getting serious now..
Ray: Sounds sorta adventurous, eh...like something from a Boys Own Annual.

Oh, the butterfly is as beautiful as your dear Na!
Ray: Pretty butterflies in Australia, Philine.
Les deux photos sont vraiment très belles !
Bonne journée Ray
Ray: Merci, Claudine. Tu es très gentil.
Lovely picture of Na
Ray: I thought it was quite ok, too, Bill...She looks different in every picture I make.

This is what I like about hiking - finding things.
Ray: Yes...one of the many things that I like about it, Louis. I have something special to show a bit later in this series.
the butterfly looks a bit weak Ray... i love the portrait of Na with the pretty flowers....petersmile
Ray: The butterfly is fine, Peter...it had no difficulty in flying.

I have many pics of Na with flowers...she loves gardening and gardens.
The white butterfly and Na are equally beautiful...
Ray: Oh...very nicely done, Larry! smile
Two beuatiful ladies in one post, Na looks really happy.
Ray: A new experience for Na. and she loved it, Brian.
On its last legs, I assume, Ray.
Ray: I assume you mean the butterfly, Tom? Actually, it was fine, and had no problems about flying when I disturbed it.

I have just caught up with your trek photos, Ray. What an opportunity, and I bet Na and Mawin loved it. Na is looking good!
Ray: It was a wonderful walk, Lisl...Na and Mawin loved it.
