Veteran

This handsome Veteran is still earning its keep as a water tanker in the road-building crew.

I expect it is about my age by looking at its front-end, with the gorgeous lines of rivets. However, it has had a new cabin fitted...a home made work in metal and wood.

I came across Him, while on a bicycle ride a few days ago.

I am trying to not copy Frank, but certainly admit to being inspired by his gorgeous work in this genre.

i like its robust and blockish look. i cannot imagine what are those rows of rivets holding together? despite the cracked paint layers, it seems competent enough to do its job.
Ray: I am a bit like that, Ayush...despite the look of my ancient skin, there seems to be a still competent engine inside. smile
Wow that is a beauty! Your photo's - especially the close up of that wonderfully crackled paint - are really great... It looks like it's covered in turquoise & gems!
Ray: Isn't it a gorgeous rustscape, Elizabeth!

Do more of this type of stuff, it's great to appreciate the age & ingenuity in all of it

I was referring to the truck, not you..
Ray: I love coming upon treasures like this, Chris.

Quelle antiquité !
Ray: C'est une description très positive, Martine!
A joy to behold. The cab is a masterpiece grin
Ray: A gorgeous plastic surgery, Bill!
You did a great job with this. You have created a very artistic view of texture on the hood.
Ray: Thank you, Mary.
I just used the toy camera in my phone.
The closer I got to this beast the more I realised what a wonderful veteran it was, and the paint texture on the hood/bonnet was an unexpected bonus.
I love this kind of stuff!
Whata great subject you found there, goodness knows how old it is, but isn't it great to see it still in use.
Ray: I saw it resting in the wet paddock, Brian, and immediately decided I need a few pictures of this handsome character...I felt we were veterans of similar age.
Great shots, Ray - that bonnet is a work of art!
