Ray's Thai Tours #1

Recently we had some family members from Australia staying with us for a week. I took a few pictures with my smartphone camera. I'll show you a little of how we spent the time.

We drove 400km to Bangkok, and met Ben&Naomi at the airport. We got a few hours of sleep in a hotel that behaved rather like a Backpacker's Hostel, then hit the road. On the way to our house we passed a few interesting places, so stopped for a quick peek.

Here is your mature Travel Guide, Ray, putting himself between the travellers and a herd of stampeding beasts while offering advice and guidance...he is carrying a Canon Mirrorless camera and has just realised he made the trip without first charging the batteries!

[SC buddies please note...this series is a sampler of the RTT (Ray's Thai Tours) itinerary that you could expect when you visit]

I thought only Chad forgot to charge batteries
Ray: It seems Chad is not alone in committing this cardinal sin, Bill.

I can imagine that you are the best guide we can find in Thailand!
Ray: Certainly there are none that can match my price, Philine.

Camera with no batteries. Who do you think you are - Chad?
Ray: Alas, Chris, Chad has company under the Dunce's cap!
Très originale façon de tailler les buissons.
Ray: Topiary est une compétence de jardinage hautement développée en Thaïlande, Martine.
I'm ready! Nice to have a preview of what our RTT will be like! smile
Ray: Great! I'll fill the Bus with diesel, and we'll get moving!

What a strange-looking creature. Behind that, there are some wild beasts smile

My usual trick is to forget the memory card but at least my Canon DSLR has two.
Ray: Thailand has its fair share of strange-looking critters, Alan...mostly geriatric male expats.

At first I thought you were standing on one of those poles guarding car parks etc. Now I can see it s a wall. But you look as if you have been cutted and pasted into the picture.
Ray: It is the tallest thing I can stand on without getting a crippling episode of vertigo, Chad.
Nice topiary standing behind you Ray. I've done both at different times, ie.not bothered to take the spare battery and being a mile or more from the car and not taking the spare memory card because i didn't think I'd need it Doh!
I am sure you would be a perfect guide in your Thai paradise, Ray. Good of you to keep the herd of water buffalo back. The one on the right may have mange.
these beasts are not goring anyone too soon, Ray. i am reminded how recently a matador was recently gored to death, in Spain if i remember correctly.
You are in danger of being run down by those beasts!
Very nice baggy trousers, Ray
