Ray's Thai Tours #10

This is the Ubosot [Learning Room] at Wat Burapharam, the main Buddhist temple in Surin city. One of the distinguishing features of this revered temple is that it is one of the few in all of Thailand that opens the doors of its Ubosot to the public.

I grabbed the opportunity to show Ben&Naomi what is inside the most ornate of all the temple buildings:

Wow! It's stunning!
Ray: That is pretty much my reaction to seeing inside for the first time, Elizabeth.

Amazing stuff
Ray: Temple Art is quite amazing, Chris...and the best of it is in the Ubosot.

It is beautiful. Thanks for including some of the internal details, too. I thought in the lower photo that the lady on the left was fiddling around texting someone.
Ray: Giving breast to baby...I suppose there are similarities, Alan.

It is a beautiful building, and the inside is even better than the outside to my eye.

I like the roof tendrils Ray.
Ray: A wonderful collection of roof tendrils, Chad...you have a good eye for such things...
This has a 5* wow factor Ray
Ray: Just the place to impress the novice monks, eh!
Ray: Is the "compound" a Shrine, a Temple or a Monastery, Mary?

Are the monks practicing Buddhism?

Why does PEI have many Chinese Monks, I wonder?
It is beautiful both outside and inside. I particularly like the last picture of the family.
Ray: It is a wonderful building to visit, Brian.
I assume the pics show the Buddha teaching - but the guy in the hammock is another thing altogether!
Ray: I don't know the story of Buddha well enough to tell you about the bloke in the hammock, Tom, but it is surely from a Life Lesson.

What a fabulous murals here, Ray. And is that a real monk sitting on the left in the second from the bottom picture. What an amazing sight this inside is. (love that red chair and the fan)
