Les gens ont l'air étonnés devant ce marchand.
Ray: Je pense que les passants tentent de décider si son produit est authentique, Martine!

What is he selling? I wonder if these are rice-plants?? And did you buy anything at the market?
Ray: He is selling "Rare Thai Herbs", Astrid...whatever that is...so rare I don't know anything about it.

What interested me, though, was the among of attention he was getting from passers-by...clearly a retailing expert.
Mmmm I bet they're delish... did you buy some for the dinner recipe!?
Ray: Na bought a couple of roots, Elizabeth, and has poked them in the ground...if they grow then I expect we will try the young growth one day.
I do recognize a few of these interested buyers, Ray. I like your POV.
Ray: Some of the buyers are with me, Ginnie.

Will "rare Thai herbs" send you into a trance, extend your life expectancy or help you revert to being an eighteen year old stallion?

The crowd seem sceptical
Ray: The benefits are greatly beneficial, Chris, but non-specific! smile

They look a bit like skinny carrots to me. Did you buy some? He certainly is getting some interest from the shoppers.
Ray: Na bought some, Alan...they are now in our garden somewhere and, in time, will no doubt turn me into a Prince Charming or something.
They look like stringy carrots...the herbs not the people
Ray: I say...fair go with the string carrots...my wife is in that audience and is neither orange not stringy...in fact Donald Duck, aka POTUS is the only orange person I know of...

Oh...you mean the herbs...odd-looking roots, aren't they.

The people look fascinated Ray.
Ray: A good showman will attract an audience anywhere, Chad.
I think I would be a bit wary about buying/eating herbs under a nondescript name.
Ray: Ha Ha

Its all Act-of-faith in Thailand, Brian...the good thing is that food is a religion in Thailand, so it is very unlikely you will be given anything inappropriate.

In fact, it is probably safer eating in Thailand than in England...you also have very little idea of what is in that restaurant meal you consumed for lunch...and, food is not a religion there.
A good street scene, Ray.
Ray: Thank you, Frank.

I like to take street shots, but don't do it nearly often enough.

Looking at some of those passers-by I get the idea that some of those herbs landed on your table.
Ray: Na did buy a couple of plants, and they are now in the ground in some part of our garden, Louis...time will tell if any gets to the table.
They look like rather long carrots!
Ray: To my knowledge, Tom, I have not experienced the taste of this "herb"...perhaps it is a tropical carrot! smile
