Yangon Circle Line #7

We find a restaurant that offers local food, negotiate a table and order three somethings. We are a lunchtime curiosity, and I silently curse myself for forgetting to pocket my juggling balls before setting out this morning.

Yangon Circle Line

Yangon Circle Line

Tim wanders off to try to find either cold beer or some sort of ersatz coffee. Soon enough he is returned with tins of cold coffee.

And...here are two mature age gents demonstrating impeccable two-finger braking technique on their trusty bicycles.

Bon appétit !
Ray: Merci!
i thought that they put you at the kids table Ray...
now i realize that they are all like that....petersmile
Ray: An odd place, Peter...low-slung tables and chairs, as though stolen from a kindergarten, and everything in lollipop green. We didn't really know what we were eating, either.

Great adventure!
Ray: All good fun, Bonnie.
What a terrific set of images to illustrate your experience!
Ray: All good fun, Elizabeth.

Fantastic stuff Ray. I expect the food was good but your chums don't look too comfortable. No wonder you were a curiosity.
Ray: The food was edible, Chad. I doubt the locals are accustomed to eating in the company of foreigners.

They appear to have taken the seats and tables from the local kindergarten. I don't wish to know what you do with your balls thank you.
Ray: Yes...I thought "kindergarten" too, Alan.

Juggling balls can be excellent ice-breakers when there is difficulty in getting a conversation started...of course I cannot juggle more than one at a time, though!

Well I hope the cuisine wasn't too challenging for you
Ray: The experience was fun, Chris, but the food was not memorable.
The somethings look quite good Ray
Ray: They were palatable, and there were no unwanted after-effects, Bill, but they were a bit bland compared with our usual [Thai] fare.

Haha, kindergarten! Bon appetit - the people in this restaurant seem to enjoy the meal. 'ersatz' is a German word as well 'kindergarten'.
Ray: I seem to be learning some German from you, Philine.
Quite an eventful lunchtime.
Ray: We enjoy our adventures...big and small...Brian.
You must have been talking in that funny Aussie accent.
Ray: Tim is a Pommie and Koen is a Dutchman...they would not understand me if i talked Strahn, Mary.
Yes, you could have made a baht or two smile
Ray: I imagine the audience would be enthusiastic, Tom...a busker craves adulation. smile
in addition to the two fingered braking, the longyi management while riding a cycle is of immense fascination to me. the Telenor sign indicates that the country has opened up for business, Ray
