Enter The Dragon #1

Here is a mini series to showcase the Dragonflies that are everywhere in my garden at the moment.

This one has solid colours on its wings, and this makes it look especially robust.

Oh, WOW, Ray. It's like it started out being a butterfly!
Ray: Yes...almost like a hybrid of Butterfly and Dragonfly, Ginnie.

These are gobsmacked and you do these like nobody else!!I love the colours and those wings are wonderful...it almost looks like a butterfly....
Ray: Quite gorgeous critters to have fluttering about in our garden, Astrid!
Magnifiques macros.

Oh, she comes like an airplane - a great image!
Ray: Thank you, Philine. I am delighted to host these lovely critters in the garden.
He looks like a sporty model
Ray: Yes...and, very acrobatic when flying, Bill.
There are some things you find in your garden I don't envy you having but I do these beautiful creatures, and as usual so well photographed.
Ray: We are in the heart of the Wet season at the moment, Brian...it rains nearly every day for several months...this is Dragonfly breeding season...there are Dragonflies everywhere in our garden!
That's astonishing, Ray - and excellent shots, you really are becoming the master of insect pics! I wonder if that colouration is a protective device, mimicking something nasty? smile
Ray: Whatever the reason, Tom, it is a lovely flying package.
it is a rare dragonfly to see with solid colours Ray... good find and capture.....petersmile
Ray: We have a lot of Dragonfly species in Thailand, Peter, and quite a few are gracing my garden at the moment.

What a macro, one can even see it needs a shave smile
Ray: I like to see the hairs on the heads of these critters, Louis...interesting patterns.
I love it! The matching eyes and spots in it's pattern certainly mean something. Well done!
Ray: I am guessing it is more for attracting mates than for protection, Mary.
