A Short Walk In The Grampians #3

Soon enough we come upon a strange Natural Sculpture I will name Chicken Rock...others might prefer to name it  Dinosaur Rock, or perhaps even Mummy. I think it is rather lovely.

Here are a couple of shots with scaling objects included.

Etrange, j'y vois un animal préhistorique.
Ray: Peut-être un poulet de dinosaure, Martine?
I think dinosaur chicken is the right thing.... How strange!
Ray: Yes...I think that works, Elizabeth.

It is a very odd natural sculpture.
chicken rock does come to mind, Ray.
Ray: It is a most pleasing thing to see in the wild, Ayush.

Yup - that's one helluva chicken!

Or it could be a turkey
Ray: Oh...turkey is good, Chris.

I'm thinking Duck Rock or perhaps Coot Rock; it seems to have a longer "neck" than a chicken. wonderful formation, though.
Ray: I like Coot Rock, Alan, even though it is quite a flight to the closest sea.

Whatever it's called it's certainly striking Ray. It looks as if the young chap is enjoying himself.
Ray: It was a good outing for the family, Chad...cool weather, great scenery, pleasant company.
How about the Chicken Dinosaur! As old as dirt, I'm sure, if not older!
Ray: Yes! Works for me, travelling Ginnie.

I think chicken rock sounds great to me. It looks like a big blob of lava and maybe it will lay eggs one day... great pictures.
Ray: Ha Ha

Thank you, Astrid.
I think Chicken rock sounds right
Ray: Thank you, maaaaate!
Impressionnante sculpture naturelle
A chacun son imagination ...sourires
Bonne journée
Ray: Les sculptures naturelles, comme les nuages dans le ciel, sont bonnes pour stocker l'imagination, Claudine.

Not very practical for this chicken to lay eggs. The surface they have to land on is too hard. Should the egg survive, it will mean that the shell is too hard to be cracked by the baby chicken.
Ray: She seems to be sitting on a nest, Louis, so probably solved the problem by laying down a mattress of twigs and pin-feathers before dropping her eggs. smile

amazing...I was thinking swan! Nice family outing.
Ray: Yes.I can see a Swan with ruffled feathers. It was fun, Bonnie!
A most interesting rock, the elements have certainly done their job on it.I like the way Mawin and Na are looking so happy, and Mawin certainly seems to be admiring his Uncle.
Ray: The mountains are ancient, Brian, so Nature has had plenty of time to create this sculpture.

A new experience for Na and Mawing, and they enjoyed every minute of it.

Ben is Mawin's half brother.
Seems like a pretty good name, Ray!
Ray: Thank you, Tom.
it looks like a goose to me Ray... thanks for the scale... i like the pretty one in the 3rd shot....petersmile
Ray: I believe I can see a goose, too, Peter.
Looks like a swimming stegosaurus to me...
Ray: Oh...nice imaginative input, Larry.
One of my favorite things in the world - strange rocks.
