A Short Walk In The Grampians #11

We are on top of Hollow Mountain, an ancient structure hosting a maze of caves that have been created over millions of years by the action of wind and water.

Ben believes he knows a feasible route through the caves from the top to the bottom, so here we are descending into the bowels of Hollow Mountain to test his belief...Na's hands on hips stance might suggest some element of skepticism...

What a wonderful excursion! I'd have enjoyed this very much!

How did we not know this is your birthday?????

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU!!!
Ray: Thank you, Elizabeth. I think you will see some things that you think are a bit similar to some of your lovely landscape around Flagstaff in the next couple of days.

I have never been into celebrating birthdays...a bit of an underwhelming achievement to stay alive for another 365 days, heh!...so I don't advertise it widely.
a bit of gentle encouragement (such as a shove) might be required here, Ray.
i have never been in a cave, Ray or at least one that has been left entirely in its natural state.
Ray: I'll give you are few views of the inside in the next 2 days, Ayush...you will see it is pristine.

I expect Na thinks all those Australians are mad, Ray!
Ray: Na has learned to put her trust in Ben, Lisl, but she might be a bit wary of the rest of us.

Being inside a cave is not one of her favourite experiences.
C'est peut être le bon chemin il faut y aller voir ..sourires !
Bonne journée Ray
Ray: Ça devrait être amusant Claudine, même si ce n'est pas le bon chemin.

You would need a certain amount of faith to go down there..

May I wish you a happy forthcoming 365 days of adventure
Ray: I was not sure Ben had a clue about a route in the cave, Chris, but entirely trusted him to not put us in danger.

Thank you...I am hoping for quite a few multiples of 365 days of adventure before it all dries up, or falls off, or ceases to be...

Good that Ben is the leader and knows the route, I were as sceptical as Na.
Ray: At this point, Philine, I am not sure he knows the route, but am confident he will not put us in any peril.
I will only whisper happy birthday then

Na seems dubious indeed...I would be even more so!!
Ray: Thank you, Bill.

Keep viewing to see what we see once underground.

I'm with Na, I'm not too keen on caves.
Ray: I think you will change your mind in the next 2 or 3 days, Chad...stay with the tour group!

Well I hope that Ben was right. I'm OK being undergrown as long s I can stand up or at least crouch. If I have to wriggle through narrow gaps on my stomach then no thank you!
Ray: Stay with the Tour, Alan...I am confident we can keep you upright!

She probably said something like - call me when you see daylight on the other side and I will follow.

Congratulations on completing 25550 days and may your new 365 day cycle be full of photographable experiences.
Ray: I expect there was some concern about the possibility of ghosts in there, Louis [most Thai folks are strong believers in such things] but she followed Ben in.

I expect the next 365 days will contain elements of photography, cycling, reading, writing,,,pretty much business as usual.
I think I would be dubious about going in there as well. Have a happy birthday today from both of us Ray.
Ray: Ben sad it would be ok, so we went.

Thank you Brian and Maureen.
I think I'd be sharing Na's doubts!
Ray: I think most people are a little uncomfortable with caves, Tom.
