Little Mum and Mek

The Quality Assurance team inspect the rice harvester before the work day begins.

My observations indicate that cats are curious about everything!

Our rice harvester is basically a factory on tracks. It uses tracks rather than wheels so it can operate in the very wet and rather small rice fields. It cuts the rice seed heads from the plants, separates the rice seeds from the straw, and bags the seeds, as it is driven anti-clockwise around the field.

Ils sont curieux. La tricolore est magnifique.
Ray: La tricolore ... Petite Maman ... est la plus curieuse de tous nos chats, Martine ... elle veut étudier chaque nouvelle chose dans la maison et la cour.

Its so lovely to see Little Mum and Mek doing so well. I hope all the animals are out of the way before your estate management team get to work.
Ray: Mek had a set-back about 2 weeks ago...because he lives in a family that includes 10 dogs he has learned to trust them...unfortunately, he approached a stranger dog in the lane, and it bit him severely and nearly killed him. We have nursed him back to health, but he still has mending wounds on the back, stomach, leg and tail.

I cannot criticize the cats' curiosity in any way, the machine is worth many a good poke, prod & look
Ray: In the bottom pic you can see Mek approaching the machine, Chris...Little Mum called him up onto the machine, and they then both poked, prodded and explored up there for at least one hour.
I hadn't realised you have a farm as well Ray. The cat next door to us is always making inquisitive visits to our garden, especially now we have recently had it landscaped.
Ray: We have a rice farm, where we grow mainly hom mali, the premium Thai aromatic long-grain rice...we keep quite a lot of the crop to feed the family including the dogs and cats.

The rice harvester is also used as the means to conduct a small rice harvesting business which is run for us by Na's brother.

The inquisitiveness of cats is a wonderful characteristic to observe.
Was anything done about thew dog that attacked your cat? I have seen that happen too many times. Poor Mek! Mum is a beaut.
Ray: The dogs of the Village are not constrained at all, so the cats need to be wary and need to learn that not all dogs are benign. Fortunately, Mek seems like he will make a full recovery.
Good photo of cats doing what they do best--being nosy!
Ray: It is certainly one of their premier skills, Larry.
Toujours à  l'affut nos amis les chats
Bel engin que cette ramasseuse de Riz
Bonne journée
Ray: C'est très amusant de regarder les chats en train de fouiller dans chaque partie de cette grosse machine, Claudine.
They've got to give it their seal of approval smile Looks like a pricey bit of gear!
Ray: I think it got their approval, after a long inspection. All Kubota machinery is expensive...that Japanese company is the #1 Agricultural Machinery producer in Asia...leads in innovation and manufacture, and its products are the best in all crops.
You are right about cats!! EVERYTHING is a source of interest!
*** I am SO sorry to hear about little Mek being attacked by a dog. Poor thing must've been so scared... I know he's in good hands with Na as his nurse.
Love the pics of your harvester... what a machine!
Ray: We thought Mek was likely to die after the vicious attack, Elizabeth, but after 3 weeks he is almost back to 100%.
