Swampland #2

This is a place where it is sometimes possible to see all three species of White Egret wading in the shallows and fishing amongst the grass roots...today there are only two species, but I do get a flock of Ducks as a consolation.

Golly, Ray - these are beautiful photos! What an amazing place!
Ray: Thank you, Elizabeth.

It is a wonderful swamp/lake.
J'aime les aigrettes, je trouve que ce sont des oiseaux très élégants. Il y en a beaucoup chez moi.
Ray: Oui. Les aigrettes sont des oiseaux élégants, et semblent réussir à vivre près de Sapiens, Martine.

Lovely graceful birds aren't they. They started to appear here in the UK around thirty years ago
Ray: Few birds have the gracefulness of Egrets, Chris. It is good you get an opportunity to observe Egrets in England, but this probably indicates a significant change in your environment.

This reminds me a little of our Somerset Levels where I see Egrets
Ray: It would be worth visiting the Levels, just to observe these lovely birds, Lisl.
Voilà  encore un très bel environnement pour que cette faune puisse s'epanouir
Belles photos Ray
Ray: Je trouve toujours des choses pour la caméra ici, Claudine.

I'm certainly aware that the Little Egret is becoming much more common sight in the UK, even in the rivers that flow through Scumsville. I dread to think what ghastly creatures inhabit the swamps.
Ray: Great that you are having visits by the lovely Little Egrets, Alan, even though it probably indicates a significant change in your environment.
They are elegant birds. I didn't know there were any in the UK ....shows what I know!

I wonder what happened to the third species Ray, I hope he’s alright.

Your sharp eyes do detect all sorts of birds - I like the composition of the images.
I love that first shot with the ducks especially as it gives a feeling of friendliness amongst the birds. I know of and have seen two white egret species, one right out the window I face now. It had been blown off course in a storm - this time of year.
It must be wonderful to live near all this wildlife.
Looks like a great place to find the birds, Ray.
