photoblog image I am swimming

I am swimming

Demented geriatric foreigner mimes swimming to 8 year olds who are unlikely to have ever got wet in a swimming pool or dipped their toes in an ocean...this is the Australian Crawl stroke, which is also known as Water Slapping.

The props will suggest to you that I also mimed cooking...they are mostly familiar with that activity.

Demented...yup!

However you are doing enjoyable and important work. Bet the kids just love it when Uncle Ray is around
Ray: The kids are a delight, Chris, and let the other Teachers know Kru Ray is great fun!

I can well imagine how the kids love Uncle Ray!
Ray: Kru [Teacher] Ray is popular with the kids, Philine...learning Conversational English is fun.
I get the feeling you really enjoy yourself with these kids.
Ray: I am having a wonderful time, Brian...the kids are fun to work with, and the challenge of assisting with their learning is satisfying.
So the next field trip is to a pool?
Ray: Presently, Tom, the closest public swimming pool is a long, long way from the Village.

A couple of months ago I did include a field trip, into the school's garden, to hunt for colours...that went surprisingly well. smile

I bet these poor children go home hand have nightmares. smile No, good for you for helping with their education. Have they learnt how to tie corks around the brim of a hat or to open a tinny yet?
Ray: I did take a stuffed Koala toy to the class once, Alan...I put it into a branch I had broken from a Eucalyptus tree.
The tile looks like it could line a swimming pool. Have fun with the backstroke.
Ray: Eight years old kids quite enjoy my incompetent attempts at mime, Mary...and even like my singing and dancing routines.
not all that demented Ray...
i'm glad that you are still teaching the children in your village....petersmile
Ray: Thank you, Peter.

We all seem to have fun.
