Five Minutes #1

November 20th...I am feeling a bit battered after my 212km  bicycle ride two days previously, and recovering from the physical trauma of being knocked off my bicycle by an imcompetent motorcyclist...I have some spare time at 0630 as I am not cycling...

I sit in the garden, near a patch of weeds, with a macro lens on my camera...here is a sample of what I find...

A tiny butterfly on a tiny flower.

And another one on another flower:

top notch shot, Ray. one of your best from 2017.
Ray: You are very kind, Ayush.
Thank goodness for spare time...
But sorry about your trauma!
These are beautiful!!
Ray: Tiny gems, Elizabeth.
They are up and about working another busy day in their brief lives
Ray: Nothing lazy about these tiny butterflies, Bill.

très joli, on voit bien tous les détails de la tête.
Ray: C'est joli. Je me concentre habituellement sur les yeux, pour que je me concentre bien, Martine.

Compensation for missing your early ride, Ray. Are you OK?
Ray: The biggest problem is a separated AC joint, Lisl, and related bruising from the top of my shoulder almost down to my belly button...a lot of pain, even after more than a week, but I think I will get full recovery.
You clearly still have your camera wits about you, Ray...but how scary. Did you break any limbs or are you "just" skinned up?!
Ray: The biggest problem is a separated AC joint, Ginnie, and related bruising from the top of my shoulder almost down to my belly button...a lot of pain, even after more than a week...other bruises and friction burns...

The things you see with a few minutes to spare. Fabulous pictures. I hope your shoulder is doing fine again. I so hope you can ride your bike soon again.
Ray: I took a few days off, but am back on the bike again now, and doing easy rides up to 70km most days. Shoulder is still very painful, but should recover eventually.

I am pleased you like the pics, Astrid.

I’m pleased that your accident did not affect your ability to take such fine shots. Then butterfly appears to have a beard 😊
Ray: I did another wedding this morning, and that tired me out a bit.
Bonjour Ray
J'espère que tout va mieux aujourdhui ..
Des prises de vues vraiment magnifiques !
Merci beaucoup
Bonne journée
Ray: Je pense qu'il faudra 4 à 5 semaines pour récupérer complètement, Claudine, mais ça ne me ralentit pas trop maintenant. J'aime beaucoup ces minuscules papillons.

Good recovering!
Ray: I should be fully recovered in about 4-5weeks, Philine. I am already back on the bicycle, but not working very hard due to discomfort.

As a pure image I think this works very well Ray.

If this is what you find during convalescent time, maybe they should knock you down a bit more.
Ray: Ha Ha

I am a bit clumsy, and seem to get more scapes and bumps than most, Louis...I also travel faster than most, and this could be a contributing factor.
You have so much wildlife going on in your garden Ray, a photographers delight. I'm sorry to hear about your bike accident, I'll bet it wasn't your fault.
Ray: The garden is working like a wildlife magnet, exactly as I hoped, Brian. All this week I am showing images I shot in about 5 minutes sitting beside a small garden of weeds.

As with most road accidents it is rare for the blame to be apportioned 100% to one side...on this occasion I will accept 10% responsiblilty, due to diminished awareness of what was happening around me...caused by my tiredness, as I was 190km into a 210km bike ride...Normally I might have had a half second awareness of the danger plunging at me from the bushes beside the road, and MIGHT have been able to initiate some kind of avoidance action.
These are really good, Ray.
Ray: They are tiny, Frank, but gems.
Fine finds, RAy - I hope the accident wasn't too bad??
Ray: Thank you, Tom.

It was a busy road, so the accident could have been a lot worse!
i'm sorry to hear about your accident on the cycle ride(212km) Ray...
that is a crazy distance... good for you...
and i like your butterflies as well....petersmile
Ray: I expect I will be fine in a couple of weeks, Peter.

I like these little butterflies, too,
beautiful tiny butterflies...
