The Rice Harvest #5

Our dogs are fully engaged in the rice harvest.

Khai Phou, our Golden Retriever, likes to take frequent plunges in the nearby pond, in between chasing of swallows and swiftlets.

 Rice Harvest

Spot and her daughter Sox are enthusiastic teamworkers  in hunting for Field Rats that may have been startled by the harvester...

it is a happy post of dogs being dogs, Ray. i like each one of them.
Ray: I am more a Cat person than a Dog person, Ayush, but I have to admit I enjoy watching the dogs at play.
It must be good to have them on the team... smile
Ray: Such useful animals, Larry...they eat all the available food...they remodel shoes that are left unguarded...they wake me up [in the early hours]...they ensure I am on first name terms with the Animal Doctor...they etc etc...
Wonderful set of shots - I especially like the second where that beautiful Golden Retriever form and coat are so evident!
Ray: There is no denying that Golden Retrievers are handsome dogs, Elizabeth.
J'aime les golden retriever, je trouve qu'ils ont beaucoup d'allure.
Ray: Je pense que tout le monde est conditionné à aimer les Golden Retrievers, Martine.
Dogs having the Life of Riley, Ray. How wonderful.
Ray: Our dogs have a good life, Ginnie.

Ray: Our count is presently 1 Pitbull, 1 GT, 7 Thai Bitzers.

Joe...our young Thai Bitzer boy has left us and joined the Young Batchelors Dog Club that lives at the temple...he didn't enjoy paying 3rd fiddle to old Jon Jon and Toby. Joe still comes on my call for a pat whenever I am passing the temple.

Old Jon Jon is now 15 years old, and almost completely blind, but is still Alpha Dog in our team.

This is a great series of the dogs.... one bundle of joy!!! And by the look of the top picture, that is quite deep??
Ray: The water is about 1 metre deep in this pond, Astrid.

Good to see other members of the family geeing involved. No doubt the cats thought this was all too menial for them though an just snoozed in the shade somewhere.
Ray: The cats never venture down to the farm, Alan.
I am all for dogs killing rats
Ray: They are Field Rats which are much bigger than sewer rats, Bill, and they are vegetarian.

And to think that some people use an expression about it being a dog's world. Seems fun to me.
Ray: In the case of our dogs, Louis, I think it is all fun and food.
Your dogs are obviously full of life Ray.
Ray: Our dogs eat a lot, but get a lot of exercise, Brian...they are fit, strong and lean.
Great to see them having fun, Ray.
Ray: They love it at the farm, Frank.

Yes, your dogs have a life of Riley.
Ray: A Dog's Life is a good life at Chez Ray et Na!
And do they ever flush the odd rodent?
Ray: Oh yes...they catch them like this, Tom, or sometimes dig them out.
They each show their breed characteristics here. I like this, seeing your dogs in their jobs rather than lying around after work.
Ray: I prefer it when they do these things rather than chew up my garden hose, Mary.
