Khao Yai #13

We are on the way home.

The kids are obviously a bit underwhelmed by their encounters with wild animals, so we stop briefly at a private zoo about 10 kilometres from the National Park to give them a more intimate animal experience.

This is the end of our Khao Yai expedition...I hope you found it of interest.

What fun! Thank you, Ray!
Ray: You are most welcome, Elizabeth.
Underwhelmed???? Man alive. THAT is what kids need to be doing these days!!! What a great image, Ray.
Ray: Sometimes kids need a bit more hands-on, Ginnie, so we made this quick excursion.

Jolie scène, j'aime beaucoup ces grands animaux.
Ray: Les girafes sont de très beaux animaux, et très étrangement équipées de leurs longues jambes et de leur cou, Martine.

Oh, this would be an experience for me, too! A nice picture with the long necks!
Ray: Giraffes are magnificent animals, Philine.

I think there is still some reticence to get up close and personal. Good job the giraffes have such long necks.
Ray: If you get too close one animal will grab all the food, Alan.

This is a really charming shot!
Ray: The kids enjoyed this unusual encounter, Chris.

This is delightful -one for the children to treasure when they get home
Ray: Young Waan was a bit over-awed by the size of the giraffes, so she decided to not feed them...the other kids enjoyed the experience of being up close to these gentle monsters.
A fine end to an enjoyable trip Ray,
Ray: Thank you for staying the distance, Bill.

So that his how their necks are trained to be so long. This does look very funny Ray.
Ray: Quite amusing, eh!
I have photos of my grandkids feeding giraffes too. Love the dappled floor.
Ray: I am not a big fan of zoos, Mary, but thought this encounter had value.

The dappled floor comes from the shade of a tall tree, and reminds me a little of the patterns on the giraffes.
This must have been great fun for all concerned.
Ray: I believe the kids enjoyed the encounter, Brian.
A great stopping-off experience!
Ray: When Na suggested it, Tom, I was somewhat dubious...as usual, Na turned out to have better intuition than me.
A great stopping-off experience!

This is absolute fabulous, what a treat for the kids and for you to have this memory.
That is good thinking to make a platform halfway up the neck of the giraffe smile
Ray: The feeding platform design was well thought out, Astrid.

The kids seemed to enjoy the encounter...I got a few good pictures...Na's suggestion to finish the trip this way was a good one.
What a great shot--each kid has a giraffe...
Ray: All except Nong Waan, who was a little fearful of such huge animals.
