Reflecting

Na and I are reflected in a clean mirror installed behind this statue of a famous Thai monk.

Here is a shot of the carload of travellers enjoying the over-the-top aspects of the Chinese Garden in the Central Thailand city of Suphanburi where we went to participate in the induction of a Novice Monk from our extended family...

I like the mirror shot! Works well sometimes - as this! Nice family shot, as well!
Ray: We found this Chinese Garden by accident, Elizabeth, and I enjoyed its exuberant over-the-topness.
Who's that guy next to, Ray. smile
Ray: I seem to be standing with my identical twin, Frank.
Très depaysant pour moi ..
Une bien belle famille
Bonne journée
Ray: Ce fut une excursion intéressante, Claudine, et nous emmena dans une région de Thaïlande que nous avons rarement visitée.

Wonderful family snaps, the puking dragon is truly a thing of wonder

Remind me just who is being inducted, and for how long. A lifetime of deprivation or just a few weeks?
Ray: The giant, puking dragon is wonderfully big, Chris.

The Novice monk is the young brother of the wife of Na's youngest brother...i.e. no relation to either me or Na. However, there must be a reason why we needed to attend, but about that reason I am clueless. He will be a monk for just a few weeks.

This Thai monk might bless you and your family! Do you offer food to the celebration?
Ray: Na helped prepare the food, Philine. She also gave money, which is preferred over other gifts.

The monk might bless us.

What a strange-looking object. The Mink and Na look wonderful, though. The dragon seems to have eaten something that disagrees with it.
Ray: Very funny, Maaaaaate! Of course, I was accidently included [twice] in the image.

I think the enormous dragon is being depicted as the creator of all waterfalls! Or something...

You are looking very youthful, Ray
Ray: 70 is the new 35, Lisl...at least, that's what I keep telling myself... smile
Yep that dragon qualifies as OTT!
Ray: On this we are in full agreement, Bill.

Incredibly clear reflection Ray, I’d never have believed it was a mirror. What is the dragon vomiting up?
Ray: It is a good quality mirror, for sure, Chad.

The dragon is vomiting up the World's Oceans...that's where they came from...innit...
Excellent shot of you, Ray. If there are monks, there are food offerings in tow.
Ray: Giving alms to monks is a big merit-making opportunity, Mary.
Two very fine shots Ray, that dragon is something else.
Ray: I was surprised to come upon this monster dragon, Brian...it has to be the biggest one in Thailand.
No half measures with these wonderful constructions.
Ray: Thais certainly have a gift for concrete statues on the grand scale, Martin.

well, wasn't that genius of you for a selfie !
Ray: I saw a photo-opportunity the moment I spotted this confused old man looking at me, Sherri. smile
Lovely gold... I like the cup in his lap...
Ray: The cup is a symbol of non-materialism, Larry...hopefully there is no rolex on the wrist.
A couple of goodies, Ray
Ray: Thank you, Tom.
