I couldn't see the driver anywhere nearby, so expect he is hiding out of acute embarrassment...

We have potholes - but THIS!
Ray: Ha Ha

No doubt the driver is making up an excuse like that.

He's not going to drive this out in a hurry, Ray
Ray: This will require the hiring of a rescue vehicle, Lisl.

I expect a few guys will turn up on mopeds and perhaps with an elephant and then push the truck out of the ditch. I see a Tesco sign; there is a Tesco local shop around 500m from my house.
Ray: There will be a rescue vehicle, and money will change hands, Alan.

Tesco [called Tesco Lotus] as it is required by law to be 51% local ownership] is a common sight in all small to large cities in Thailand. It is profitable, I believe, but not dominant.

A good example of why it pays to keep one’s eyes on the road.
Ray: In this case. Chad, I believe the driver made a serious error of judgement when attempting to reverse his vehicle on a side track.
OMG! My laugh for the day.
Ray: I laughed at the sight, too, Mary, but feel the driver will have other emotions. smile
Oupsss ...situation compliquée non?
Ray: Une position difficile de placer un camion, et le conducteur devra demander de l'aide pour récupérer.
This reminds me. We have a busy street in our city with a very low railroad bridge. Periodically a truck driver ignores the height sign and sardine-cans his roof!
Ray: I have seen sights like the one you describe, Larry...embarrassing and expensive for the truck owner/driver.
Oh dear!!!!
Ray: Not one of the driver's finest moments, Brian...
You can't help wondering if this was deliberate so he could change a wheel
Ray: Truck drivers in Thailand do strange things, Bill...if that was his intention then he forgot the bit about how to get out after replacing his wheel.
Ooops!
Ray: The Thailand equivalent of "Ooooops!" would probably turn the air purple, Tom. smile
Ooops!
