Under the bridge...a glimpse.

Next week we will take a closer look at activities on the steps and in the water under this old steel bridge.

I like the glimpse...
Ray: Thank you, Larry...more next week.
I like the bottom shot of the people wading!
Ray: Hated the bridge pic, heh! smile

Blimey that's one heck of a metal span Ray!

And I suppose they all get immune from that soup of shite they call the sacred doodah..
Ray: It is a helluva bridge, Chris...span more than double that of Clifton bridge in Bristol, and the deck is close to 3 times wider. I has been in operation about 80 years and is believed to be the World's busiest bridge.

I believe you and I would die if we immersed ourselves in this river, but regular bathers develop body flora to cope.

This bridge just shows how an industrial structure can be a think of beauty Ray, it’s magnificent.
Ray: I agree with your point, Chad, and will show it again [from a different perspective] soon.
THe bridge looks like someone went berserk with meccano but it is mighty impressive!
Ray: It is a seriously impressive structure, Bill.
What a bridge - and so low! It would be prone to flooding, I would think.
Ray: It is an enormous structure, Mary, and most ships can pass under it.

Wait until you get to the Ganges with the bodies drifting down it. I don't think body flora will help at all.
Ray: Actually, Louis, this is the Ganges...downstream of the section called The Ganges...if there are floating human bodies in the Ganges the we will see them floating past here.

This section of the river is certainly badly polluted by human actions, but next week I will show some images that might dispute that point of view.
I've seen this bridge on TV.

this bridge always reminds me how the trams have lost out, Ray. once there used to be a bi-directional tram line on the bridge and just like the most of the city, they have been torn out.
