Fascinating creatures Ray, but I believe they can be more viscous than they look.
Ray: They have a strong grit and long claws, and san dou damage if they are attarmed at all.
On my visit to AU, it was always a highlight to spot one in the wild. It was the bonus to being a lover of the sky.
Ray: You are right, Mary...looking up can have a bonus when walking in the Australian bush.

When you come across eucalyptus scented poo, just look up in the tree ...

I always thought that the teddy bear that comforted so many children to sleep, is koala by origin. When I was in Belgium, I visited a toy museum and learned it is not so. The teddy bear is named after U.S. President Theodore “Teddy" Roosevelt. In 1902, President Roosevelt participated in a bear-hunting trip in Mississippi. While hunting, Roosevelt refused to shoot a baby bear that was captured. This endeared many Americans and one had a teddy bear made, named it after Teddy and gave it to the president. Teddy bears became a rage then. I checked on the internet and the event is described there.
Ray: Thank you, Louis...very interesting.
Looks as if he is keeping an eye out for inquisitive photographers, Ray.
Ray: He is on his best behaviour, Beverlie.
