Rolling Colour

Victoria's trains are colourful, quick, cluan and punctual.

One of the pleasant surprises for me, after years of living away, is the remarkable improvement in Victoria's train services.

I've forgotten what a good train service is in the U.K. Apparently its got worse whilst I've been away.Good to hear the Australian experience is good for you Ray.
Ray: I used the trains several times, Frank, including 2 trips of 500km, and was impressed every time.

Beautiful shot!! Are they racing???
Ray: Resting here, Bonnie...waiting for peak hour to commence.
They are very colorful! I'm pleased to hear they're working well!
Ray: The services work well, and the employees seem proud of their work, Elizabeth...I am impressed.

Punctual trains? We could learn a lot from Victoria
Ray: I was [pleasantly] shocked by this discovery, Lisl.

The trains look very fine. I think in Germany we could learn a lot from Victoria, too.
Ray: My rail experiences in the last 2 months have been 100% positive, Philine.

How wonderful to live in a land where what you describe is a daily fact of life Ray
Ray: I quickly came to trust this mote of travel, Chris, and it lead to me trying very long journeys [300km] and enjoying them.

I wouldn’t recommend the Adelaide to Melbourne train though, even travelling gold kangaroo service.
Ray: Gold Kamgaroo Service...I would be suspicious of anything with a same like that, Chad! smile
Fine looking trains Ray, as others have said over here, were trains were invented, the servcie leaves an awful lot to be desired.

I have a problem with my SC blog at the moment, apologies if I appear to be a bit aloof with replies etc., hopefully it will be sorted soon.
Ray: Sad to hear your rail services are so poor, Brian.
You can buy a ticket that takes you everywhere too. I was very impressed with the transportation in that city.
Ray: It took many years for the ticketing system to be made to work, Mary, but works fine now.

It is a boon to have a good commuting system. Which we don't really have - only snippets of it, here and there. While I was in Belgium recently, I travelled by rail on a Travel Pass. Worked 100%.
Ray: An interesting comment, thanks, Louis.

I thought Victoria's rail services were in terminal decline but they have somehow managed to reverse that trend and is probably now deserving to be described as World Class.
They sound the exact opposite of our trains Ray
Ray: Oh Dear...so much unhappiness about the state of GB rail services, Bill.

Perhaps the VicRail people should be asked to provide assistance.

They re certainly very colourful? Are they State-run? Ours are run by private companies and are so expensive.
Ray: They are State-run services, Alan...not a problem if the State is focused on Customer Service.
