Lylak Time

The newest feature in the garden...Na planted a couple of these trees a few months back...they are now 2-3metres tall and starting to flower. I was on hand to capture the remarkable change during the day in the first bud to burst...catch the short animation below...

Magnifique fleur, j'aime ses couleurs tendres.
Ray: Oui, c'est bon dans le jardin, bien qu'il n'y ait pas de parfum.

It is a wonderful image, the flower is exploding to the bloom! What a change of colours in such a short time!
Ray: I visit these trees several times each day for the show, Philine.

Great stuff. The idea of using Youtube for stills is growing on me.
Ray: Youtube is a convenient way of showing slideshows, Louis.
Lovely image of a lovely flower, Ray - can't find it under this name, does it have any other?
Ray: It is Hibiscus mutabilis, Tom, and I think it might originate in the American tropics.
It is a beautiful flower, I guess Na grows them and you photograph them, what a partnership.
Ray: I am enjoying many aspects of this partnership, Brian.
what a beautiful flower Ray... i love the way that it turns from white to pink and then to a nice white with hints of pink in it....petersmile
Ray: am delighted to have this in our garden, Peter.
Do you ever bring flowers inside for vases? I would with these stunners. One is enough.
Ray: We rarely bring flowers inside, as Na is seriously pnobic about caterpillars, Mary, but I might try one as you suggest.
They are just stunning! I love the photos and the animation!
