Excellent detail and contrast. I like how the curve of the leaf partitions the shot.
Ray: Thanks, Martin. I liked the curve of the leaf edge too.

So glad I was able to go back and SEE your past images, Ray. You are not one I want to ever miss, you know. I'm such a fan of what you do. This white under-feather is just brilliant on this page. It should make all pigeonhood proud.
Ray: You are very kind, as always, Ginnie. I am so glad to be back.
Wow! Nice macro.
Ray: Thanks, Darren. This is a generous comment.

Now, now ray. Even if you were arrested you would have had some doing in the process smile

Great shot - for composition I would think to put the feather as POV in the right had third of the picture.
Ray: Thanks, Louis, for your comment and your valued suggestion. I played around a bit with different crops before finally deciding on this one, but perhaps right hand third would have been really good.

About "fault"...I guess you are correct, in that my fault was to be a SC member and in focus at the time a glich occurred...I suppose with this logic I am obliged to apportion some blame to you as well...you #@$$%%#! Ah...that's better! [grin]
Anyway, I am sure the SC guys beavered away all weekend to fix my situation, and they have finally got me functioning again.
How fast can I say likey? Outstanding......on a leaf.
Ray: [beaming smile] You are very kind, Mary.
Lovely contrast ..
Ray: Thanks, Shakara. Lots of light to play with...makes it easier for a happy snapper like me. [grin]

The light, shades, and ridges on the leaf are beautiful. The feather with all its fluffy details and wildness is the cherry on top!
Ray: "...cherry..." I like that, Kathryn.
Wonderful macro shot Ray. Great lighting and details!
Ray: Thank you, Richard. You are very generous to me.

like the strong green...
Ray: Yeh...me too. I think the bright white helps to accentuate the green.

feathering your nest Ray? ;D

But seriously there is a wonderful clarity and quality of light in this one. A like. mal
Ray: Got lucky with the light here, mal. I have shot many stray feathers, and the pics have always disappointed previously.
Sweet and beautiful again : Bravo !
Ray: Very kind comment, Zebigleb.

What an utterly superb macro shot! I love that the light striking this feather has been captured so well. (:o)
Ray: The feather did seem to be glowing.

A likey for me Ray!
Ray: Thank you, Scarlet. The surpise for me was the attractiveness of the host leaf.
