Damsel
This hot morning seemed to be ideal for the Damselflies.

Superb shot. I used to catch this when I was a child. I have never really appreciated their beauty until I have seen them captured in photos. Like this one, simply beautiful.
Ray: There is a double benefit with digital images, Mroy:
1. They stop moving, so you get to study them. 2. With close-up shots, you get a lot more detail. Under close scrutiny, they certainly score high marks for beauty. Thank you for your kind remark.
Unbelievable, Ray! Who would believe such a thing could actually fly!!!
Ray: Damsels are prettier than Dragons, but cannot fly quite so well.
I am still seeking a really good image, but am reasonably happy with this effort.
No, you didn't forget.
Ray: [grin] No...thanks, Mary.
Such big eyes and tail great capture Ray
Ray: They are quite beautiful animals, Vintage. I am happy to have made this capture.
The marvel of engineering. Whoever designed this had a great taste in arts as well.
Ray: Thanks for your comment, VZ.
Apparently a successful design...scientists believe they were co-habitants with the dinosaurs, and in approximately this same configuration. I think what you and I see as aesthetic beauty might be just enhanced functionality in the life of the Damselfly...e.g. colour scheme to advertise for a mate, or as camouflage.
Speechless.....so good, everything is good in this picture, a likey to me....you made my day with this beautiful fella.
Ray: Ha Ha!
And you made my day with this comment, Astrid. You are too kind.
Cracking, nice composition too
Ray: Thanks, Nigel.
Getting better, but still seeking Damsels.
This is amazing Ray. I am breathless! The composition is superb!Going straight to my likeys.
Ray: I am delighted that you like this image, Richard.
I am a little disappointed that the wings are not looking good, but quite happy about other things.
You are showing us the wonders of nature, and we are amazed about the creation and your photo-art!
Ray: Thank you, Philine.
You encourage me to try harder for shots like this.
Great crisp detail as always, Ray. Lost of good diagonals too
Ray: I had a couple of shots to select from, Martin, and it was the diagonals in this image that sold me.
That you for your kind remark.
Picture perfect close up. simply Beautiful.
Ray: So glad you like this image, Scotia.
Really nice shot, have tried myself but never been happy with the results, they do not stay still just long enough. A design masterpiece very well presented.
Ray: Thanks, Phil. I appreciate your comment.
Damsels are not the easiest subject...I have tried dressing up like one, but somehow they can tell I am not of the Clan. [grin]
Bonjour,
great shot..Wonderful Dof and sharpness..bravo!
Ray: Merci, Jelb.
I am pleased you like it.
Excellent detail. I love the metallic look.
Ray: Thanks, Louis.
