Does look beautiful smile
Ray: Nature's makeup artist spends a lot of time on flowers, Sub&Sin, because the survival of the species depends on the quality of that work.

Thank you for your kind remark.

Quite simply, stunning!

The colours are fabulous and the details amazing. A superb photograph, Ray
Ray: You are too kind, Paul...but I like it!

'simple'..... but oh so beautiful, fabulous composition, love the border, a piece of art again here Ray, a joy for the eye.
Ray: Thanks, Astrid. The lowly weed is fast becoming my favourite subject...especially if I can find it up close and intimate with an insect. [grin]
This works for me, best way to show off a weedsmile
Ray: Some more weeds coming up in this series, Nig. I hope they appeal to you, and that you see some where it looks like I might be trying to practice what I learn from Maestro Nig's work. [grin]

Great macro Ray
Ray: Thaks, Vintage. I am pleased you like it.
Another nice macro Ray, although I have to say that the open buds appear a touch over exposed to me, but I guess that is just the way they are in comparison to the rest of the plant. Best wishes, Neil.
Ray: Thanks for your comment, Neil.
There could be a bit of over-exposure...the flowers, though, are tiny and almost featureless, the "petals" are just solid waxy nubs, and so there isn't any more to see.
I think this is wonderful - full of interest.
Ray: Thanks, Mary.
It is a very small thing...almost unnoticeable...until you capture it close-up; then there is a lot to see and admire.
Beautiful composition Ray. I like the red touch here!
Ray: Thank you, Richard.
The tiny dots of red have got to be beacons for the sex workers!

For some reason, Ray, this is giving me a big Sesame-Street smile! This feels like a totally whimsical portrayal of Life (a party?) in the garden. A Likiey for me! grin
Ray: I think I can see what you mean, Ginnie...the flowers are more like Jim Henson caricatures than real flowers.
This series marks my first outing with macro lens AND tripod...I made it a very short outing, cos I am a bit self-conscious with all that gear, but was pleasantly surprised by some of the things I captured.
Thank you for your kind comment.

They are almost like little snail eyes sticking out at the end of their stalks.

Mother Nature has such a great sense of humor.
Ray: Hi Kathryn.
I think you are right, on both counts.
Regarding your "humor" remark...there are times when I am shooting close-ups that I laugh out loud at what appears in the view-finder.

C'est magnifique!! That's your actual French for quite nicetongue
Ray: Merci, beaucoup, Bill.

That's your actual French for "Ta, matey!"
