Insects and bugs have such amazing colors and textures in them--quite beautiful really. Except for spiders. I do not like spiders--well, just the big fat ones.
Ray: yes...I find great beauty in insects when viewed up close...spiders too.

Who mentioned spiders! Yikes... they have me running screaming to the hills.

This on the other hand, is magnificently handsome. Such amazing colours. Fine work, Ray smile
Ray: Robberflies seem to be very aggressive, muscular critters, Paul, and I like trying to capture them photographically.

Great work Ray what lense do you use for these macro "close up" photos
Ray: I use whatever I have when walking about, Vintage.
On this occasion it was the Canon 70-200mm F4 L ISM, and probably had a 25mm extension barrel behind it...this is a fine set-up for walkabout macro stuff IMHO.
Amazing, Ray. I cannot believe your photos are not published in National Geographic or something similar.
Ray: I wish!!!
Thanks for you very encouraging remark, Jennie.
Pretty damn good sir!
Ray: Demm'd fine of you to remark thusly, thanks, Bill.
What a stunning shot Ray. Perfection is around the corner. Congratulations to you!
Ray: That is a very encouraging remark, thanks, Richard.

This looks almost unreal.

I think Ray it's time you experimented with some stacking software. wink
Ray: Ok, Ellie....good idea.

Eerrr....what's "stacking software"...is it, perhaps that stack of old CD's on the printer shelf?
Scary and slightly surreal
Ray: yes...and, fascinating, Nigel.
Wonderful details !
