photoblog image Frangipani takes a dip

Frangipani takes a dip

Flower of the frangipani tree overhanging the swimming pool decides to cool off.

The colorful background is from the pattern of ceramic tiles lining the pool...as are the "halo" refraction lines around the petals.

Very good stuff, Ray. It's like those are not petals, but wings and the flower tries to take off from the surface of water. Very good shot. I'm surprised I'm the first one commenting on it.
Ray: Thanks, VZ. I find the effects of refraction very interesting, and often take pictures of things floating in the swimming pool. I am pleased you like this one.

four words...

wow! and merry Christmas!
Ray: Thanks Dr. I appreciate your kind words. Christmas is just another working day in Thailand.
You have had frangipani taking baths in the pool before. Is this a new one or a twiddled one from before. It's very lovely and full of colour.

Merry Christmas, Ray.
Ray: This is a fresh one, Mary, and not played with much at all.

Merry Christmas to you too.
Wonderful shot Ray. Have a great Christmas day!
Ray: Thanks, Richard.
Actually, Christmas day is just another working day in Thailand.

It's like a lotus flower in a pond, Ray. I LOVE the colors. Merry Christmas to you and yours, if you celebrate it. You are one of my gifts this year.
Ray: Thanks for your very kind words, Ginnie.
Merry Christmas to you too.
Actually Christmas day is just another working day in Thailand, but we do have a small decorated tree in the apartment, and the Boy seems well informed on the behaviour of the fat guy in the red costume.

Astrid.
Ray: Merry Christmas to you too Astrid.
In Thailand, Christmas day is just another working day, although retailers and kids have woken up to the gift purchasing and receiving routines.

I have very much enjoyed communicating with you through Shutterchance all this year, and seeing your brilliant portfolio of images.

Hope your Christmas is as good as this picture Ray smile
Ray: Thanks, Ellie. Christmas was fine...all the better for me because it is just another working day in Thailand. The Boy, though, needed to be catered for, as he has learned the finer points of receiving gifts at Christmas time.
