Look at lucky you, ray. Again, a little birdie saved your composition! smile
Ray: Ssshh! I have a bag of ducks and other birds...just before making the shot, I grab one and fling it between my camera and the main object of the shot...saved, again!

One needs all the "luck" one can manufacture!

nice one Ray.
The back lit stuff abounds there!!
I like the bird too
Ray: Thanks, Rob.

Back-lighting is still a big mystery for me, so I am delighted when I get a "keeper".

Nice Rob you managed to capture some of the detail in the boat, great silhouette
Ray: Thanks, Jim...I am glad you like this shot.

Ha at Victor ... Without the fisherman your bird-life photograph would have been nothing.
I really like your last two postings Ray.
Ray: Thanks, Richard.
I might try to muster up another B&W offering now and again.

That darn VZ...damning me with his faint praise...again! I am surprised he didn't point out the image-saving qualities of the water!

Bird in foreground, silhouetted fisherman, sparkling water. Very good Sirsmile
Ray: Very satisfying for me, to have you say so, M'Lord.
All ingredients are there to make a superb image Ray. Very well done indeed!
Ray: Especially that little, unfocused, image-saving bird...right, bottom...Whew! [grin]

Wonderful- the glittering shimmering sparkling lake- the silhouette of fisherman and boat - pure peace and quietness - only the birdie could cry out/ make a sound while flying upwards!
Ray: When the pilot cut the motor, and we drifted on the lake, the quietness of the place became almost deafening.

Thank you, Philine.
Love the shimmering water Ray!
Ray: As I recall, Pamela, it was the play of the sun on the tiny waves that grabbed my attention and said "Take my picture".

Thank you for your comment.

Nicely focussed Ray
Ray: Thanks, Chris. I was happy with how the boat and fisherman turned out.
Like the contre-joure lighting and the shimmering on the water.
Ray: Thanks, Brian...and, I like to learn new words from those who have them.
simply stunning Raysmile
Ray: Thanks, Tim. The scenes on the lake were stunning quite frequently.

I'm back to look at this again. It's a mighty fine photograph you managed to produce, master ray.
Ray: Hi VZ. It was a wonderful experience, spending 5 hours or more in a boat on this enormous swamp with countless birds, a number of fisherfolk doing interesting things, and a few friends wielding cameras...quite different from my more habitual behaviours.

I tried to make good images but, as usual, found my fumbling fingers and fuzzy logic to be limiting aspects of the event.

I am very happy, though, to have your reactions.
