Little Green Bee-Eaters watching for flying snacks from their perch over the pond.

It was pure pleasure to spend  an hour or so observing these beautiful and acrobatic birds.

you are a rich man, Ray, if you can afford to spend an hour watching birds. smile
A fascinating image, considering the bird is not a clone. smile
Ray: I would suggest it is a very poor person who could not afford the time to spend an hour watching these gems, VZ.

I have managed to get two and even three of them in the frame together a couple of times...suggests to me that they are quite social animals.

I'll bet it was Ray: lovely observant shot
Ray: Thanks Chris. I believe I am beginning to comprehend some of the attraction of bird-watching.

You are having way too much fun with that lens, Ray (and I am very envious!). Twiddledee and Twiddledum!
Ray: It's a nice lens, Ginnie...in my experience one of Canon's best even though it is a last century design.

At first l thought you had cloned the second bird, soon realised you hadn't. great job Ray
Ray: Thanks, Zed.
I think cloning might be a little beyond my pathetic PP skillset.
Two lil birdies sitting in the tree
Waiting for Ray to come and see!grin
Ray: Big smile]

Thank you, Delia for this nice rhymming couplet.
Such a wonderful fascinating image Ray! I love it.

Ray: Thank you, Mary. It was a lot of fun watching these birds doing their thing. Another picture tomorrow from the same session.
very nice.
I detect just a smidge of OOF which is a small nit given the subject, but you know my thoughts on Bird Photos.
great getting them both to look the right way on cue!!
Cheers
Rob
Ray: I can't get that stuff past your keen eyes, Rob! [grin]

You are correct...focus is a touch off...but I really like the attitude of the two birds.

I wanted just to say: how tranquil the birds are sitting there and observing.., frozen moments of pure concentration, but then I read your information "acrobatic birds" and I can imagine their movements and perhaps their sounds! I like that you are taking so much time as photographer in order to watch the behaviours of the birds!
Ray: Thank you, Philine.
I can feel myself turning into a serious bird-watcher as I focus more on bird photography.
Tomorrow I show a bit of action.
Obviously these are best buddies. richard
Ray: Certainly they gave the impression they know each other...perhaps siblings!
Eyes left! Fine capture Ray
Ray: Thanks, Pamela. Synchronised eyeballs! [grin]

Nicias! I'm curious what the birds were looking at though.
Ray: I believe they were looking at a dragonfly lying nearby.
Thanks, Wale.
Great to catch them both in the same position Ray.
Ray: Thanks, Brian. Interesting that I have a few shots in which they both seemed fixated on a spot in the distance...perhaps a fat dragonfly.
Bravo, it's beautiful and even funny !!
Ray: These little guys do have a certain humour to them...they seem to me to behave as though is to be enjoyed.
