In the forest

Temple building, like a mushroom on the forest floor, makes the most of the sunlight it can get.

Such a comparison of old and new architecture Ray
Ray: It's an interesting temple complex, Zed. This building is newer than the apartment building behind it, but is based on an unusual mix of classical architectural components from Thailand, Cambodia and China.

The apartments are of the universal "stacked boxes" style.
great shot.
shows the temple in its natural unnatural environment
Ray: Thanks, Rob. Yes...not unusual to see this scene in Bangkok.

This is a good shot of architecture repliicating nature Ray
Ray: [grin] Thanks, Chris.

Bangkok is an interesting city...there is no CBD as such, and the "flexible" rules of town planning lead to this layering like in a rain-forest.

In my short, narrow lane [soi] there is an amazing mix of buildings...dense high-rise apartments, medium-rise resort complexes, metal-working factories, printers, carpenters workshops, 4 schools, the temple complex featured in this image, houses for the very rich, slum-constructions, footpath restaurants...etc.

[Thank you for your comment. It is very common to see scenes like this all over Bangkok. I shot this scene just a few metres from my apartment.]
A great comparision between the old and the new Ray, well done.
Ray: Bangkok is full of sites like this, Brian...this one was shot just a few metres from my apartment.
this is a likey for me due to the great contrast !
Ray: Even though sights like this are common in Bangkok, they still grab my attention.
