photoblog image Eyes everwhere

Eyes everwhere

Hoverfly takes nectar...I get the impression it knows I am there [hard not to notice me as I am so close that the lens hood is in danger of nudging the hoverfly off its flower], but it seems unconcerned.

She has a few specks of pollen on her eyes, so will probably take time out to brush them off with her forelegs soon.

smashing Ray, and you have a hood in your MFD?? You truly are the macro master. Those eye stripes really do look like a fashion accessory. Makes you wonder what they think of the massive black light vacuum you stick in front of them doesn't it?
Ray: I had to "Google" to find what an MFD was, Spark.

The Canon 100mm macro lens comes with a lens hood, which I nearly always use...I have no idea what it does for the images, but I use it to protect my lens 'cos I do a lot of leg-zooming. [grin]

I lose a lot of shots because I try to get close, but occasional results like this are pleasing.
'Spec Savers' ... buy one and get a thousand lens free.

superb ray

Ray: Sounds a bit like those disposable contact lenses, Richard.
This has got to be one of your closest and best macros, a Likey.
Ray: Thanks, Nigel.
