Dogs, drinking

When I wander about the Village I am often accompanied by the two House Dogs...they have a kind of swaggering, proprietarial air about them, but I am unsure if it is their sense of importance at having the job of taking care of their human, or if they feel safe with their human to take care of them...

I believe in the trust of my dog....if he is agitated....i start to look around....they are seldom wrong.....even at 11 years oldgrin.....
Nice capture Ray.... trust them to lead yougrin....petersmile

I apologize for misunderstanding yesterdaysmile
Ray: Yeh...dogs are good company...they tend to frighten less wild-life than young kids, too.

Apologise????? Huh?

It's a two-way street, Ray, and that's the beauty of it.
Ray: Yes, you are right, Ginnie.

Dogs tend to be that way, and are not stingy about their contribution, either.
They look to have a bit of Border Collie in them so know doubt they think they are good at rounding you up and keeping you penned in.

BUT of course they stand no chance ;-)
Ray: They are both bitzers, Richard...bits of this and bits of that...and I doubt they have a clue about stuff like rounding up...but they would't have a chance even if they were champions.

Probably the latter Ray...
Ray: Each house in the Village seems to have 2 dogs, Chris...none of them do any work at all so are just pets and night-watchdogs...but there is a funny, complicated territorial thing happening all the time between them.
It is symbiosis Ray, give and take.
Ray: Crikey, Martin...I think there is a law against that sort of thing in Thailand...

I don't hink I will ever shake off my nervousness around dogs ray.
Ray: I am more of a cat person, Chad, but trying to prepare myself for the inevitability of having 2 dogs sharing my house when I retire and move to the village to live.
Do you give them food?
Ray: Heck...no!
They think you are the pack leader Ray.
Ray: Really..they think I am alpha dog!!!

That feels pretty good...I might start tail sniffing, then...

[grin]
What a lovely image. I think with dogs it works both ways. They want to feel secure with us and they want to protect us.
Ray: Yes, I think you might be correct, Laurette...win/win...
Just hoping for a Big Mac, probably, Ray smile
Ray: These housedogs are mainly vegetarian, Tom, so might snub their noses at a hamburger.
It's a fine looking dog Ray even if it is a bitza.
Ray: The one drinking has to get a fur-cut quite often, Brian, as it gets too hot with all that stuff...Na usually attacks it with kitchen scissors.
You look after them, they will look after you, love the trickle of water at its mouth smile
Ray: Tried for the tongue, Linda, but it moves very quickly.
The black and white dog seems to have a very cuddly coat.
Ray: That one is a Bangkok city stray that Na and I took to the Village when it was about 6 weeks old...I like to think its quality of life is better than would have been possible in the big city...it is a friendly, gentle critter.

Dogs are so loyal
Ray: These two defend the house yard, Vintage, unless it is invaded by a female dog at which time all pretense of loyalty and service to the family evaporates...
