Dragonfly #5

Common, smallish, golden Dragonfly seems less nervous of my presence than most...it can often be found resting on a rock near my feet when I am out "hunting".

the back shows off nicely in the warm golden light
Ray: Yes...I was interested to show the spot where the wings attach, Ayush.
This one looks so much more delicate than the last few!
Ray: It does seem less robust, Elizabeth.
This is a superb macro Ray... i love the gossamer wings....petersmile
Ray: Gorgeous critters, Peter, and very common.

It's like an angel on your shoulder, then, Ray??! smile
Ray: Ha ha. Something like that, Ginnie. It certainly makes me smile when I see I have company.
This one is like a piece of jewellery Ray. Stunning!!
Ray: Like a delicate gold brooch, Bill...the kind that might be worn on the upper chest by a purple haired mature-age gal.

a mesmerizing golden glittering in the sun -and so close to us!
Ray: I love to get close to these exquisite critters, Philine...I feel the beauty of them becomes more startling that way.
This is nice...
Ray: I am delighted that you think so, Preyi.

This flying windmill does not conform to the usual design Ray. Not such a pretty one.
Ray: Not made of wood by a muscular Dutch carpenter, Chadridge.

Is it sitting on your big toe? If so, you have a blue nail.

An excellent macro.
Ray: Next to my big toe, Louis.

[Actually, I do have one blue nail at the moment, as the result of some silliness in gym recently]
Quel plaisir vos photos ! Ses ailes sont superbes, les dessins, la transparence ! Encore une très belle photo.
Ray: Bien, Magali ... cela est difficile d'imaginer de plus beaux insectes que ceux-ci. Je suis ravi vous appréciez les images.

I don't know how you get the focus so accurate! Beautiful photo, I love the delicate wings...these images are always fascinating.
Ray: Hi Tony. I do put a lot of effort into the focus, even though these shots are hand-held.

My favorite of the series. I love the light, the composition and the colour of the insect. Excellent, Ray!!
Ray: Well, Mary...you are being very generous.

Everything on this Dragonfly is just amazing. The wings that show the veins. The way the wings are attached to the back. Incredible creature and a great picture, I am glad this one is a poser.
Ray: I am delighted you have a similar admiration to me for these exquisite critters, Astrid.
Love the detail of the head thorax and abdomen (a flash back to my long distant school days !!!!)
Ray: Thank you, Martin. I suppose that is a benefit of looking down on the beast.
Wonderful shot : Standing ovation !
And a likey
Ray: You are too kind, Zebigleb.
This really is a beauty, we don't get them like this over here.
Ray: There are many species in Thailand, Brian...some are more spectacular than others but I like them all.

Molten gold, Ray
Ray: A fine description, Lisl.
So beautiful and delicate Ray!
Ray: Apparently so, Richard, but still robust and successful.
You never know, it may become quite attached to you, Ray - it's a lovely colour!
Ray: Perhaps there is a pheremonal attractor at work, Tom.
