We have a similar plant called Nodding Nellie. No one told me how aggressive it is and I planted it in a garden and am very sorry. It is beautiful in vases though.

It is a bit small for a vase...this sprig is only about 8cm long...and, it does not have a pleasant aroma.

Well, one can expand Na's common sense wisdom a bit further. Some folks look good, but produce nothing, and you just shake your head, when they open their mouths.

For me, though, your example is a quite spurious extrapolation of the concept:

* Is it edible? This can be easily tested.
* Does it look good? Sure...but right now I am hungry, and my pre-occupation is with filling my belly.

* some folks look good, but produce nothing...well, they do produce a good-looking focal point! There are professional good-looking people in Bangkok...usually very pretty, very well dressed young ladies...whose role in the office might best be likened to that of human office plants; usually they are well-trained, and don't open their mouths.

I find I take a lot attention to weeds these days...they often have the most beautiful of flowers.

Ray, I cannot smell this, I don't know how it will taste, but my eyes just see the beauty of this weed....I always say..weeds don't excist...only flowers that grow in the wild/bush...This to me is a great macro and the Dof is superb, what a way to start my day.....

"weed" a name given to an unwanted plant by mankind. Mother nature however has placed this on this earth and that is more than good enough for me.. There are far more "weeds" in human society than in the plant world. :o) John
