A little ground work
Little green Bee-Eater doing a bit of foraging on the ground; perhaps selecting a few small stones to help its crop with the task of grinding up all the mosquitoes and other small insects that make up its diet.

It is about mid-day on a very hot day, and the bird is panting as a means of reducing its body-temperature.

[This is the start of a short series of images of wild birds I was able to capture during a short up-country break for the Thai New Year celebrations, known as Songkran.]
