Chinese Lanterns
A groundcover/creeper growing wild at a building site in Bangkok.
The three-cornered "chinese lanterns" are seed-pods, and they grow to about the size of a golf ball.

Gorgeous.
Ray: Very pretty things, and I was lucky enough to find this sprig with a neutral background. Thank you for your kind, albeit cryptic, comment, Red Pen.
I love the silky background and the wonderful brightness of the light green plant. Unusually soft and romantic for you!
Ray: Guess I must be at that soft/romantic stage in my 90 day cycle. [grin]
Thank you for your encouraging comment, Jewlya.
A delicate picture - excellent.
This reminds me a little of the gooseberry pod, which has more than 3 corners if memory serves me. Or were you actually taking a picture of the aphid?
Ray: Thanks, Louis.
This was one of those rare occasions where the picture more-or-less matches what I thought I was shooting! [grin]
Again the blurred background really sets the subject off.
Ray: Really working hard on this blurry thing, Nigel. Can't seem to get the front and the back of the image blurry at one time, though...unlike a bunch of you SCers.
Everything about this image would make it a gorgeous greeting card, Ray!
Ray: Oh, good!
I did think some folks might have seen it as a set of green gonads. [grin]
What a delicate picture Ray. Looks like a fruit called "Pok Pok" in Madagascar!
Ray: That is interesting, Richard.
If there are three pods, do they call it "Pok Pok Pok"?
very delicate Ray. What Wattage are they?...
mal
Ray: I doubt they could muster a combined 1 candlepower between them, mal.
Thank you for your comment.
The green colour is just fabulous, so is this composition, Ray you are always able to make something special out of these objects, love it every time over and over.
Ray: Thanks, Astrid. I have a bit of a fondness for pretty weeds.
What for wonderful flowers and flowernames are there in Thailand! The world becomes richer and richer when looking at all these photos on SC!
Ray: Thank you, Philine.
I am finding SC to be an excellent educational resource also.
That's lovely Ray, good definition against the perfect coloured background
Ray: Thanks, Ellie.
Got lucky by finding this sprig with a neutral background, and thought it might work.
Yes Ray they could be gonads LOL, from a alien
A great shot from hardly anything well done
Ray: Thanks, Tracy. I seem to take lots of shots of hardly anything.
fabulous shot Ray, love the composition and lighting, great stuff
Ray: Thanks, Tim. Your comment is encouraging to me.
Fills the frame very nicely, offers crisp detail as usual, avoids distractions via clean background, i.e. this is very well done! The only thing I'd change is toning down the highlights on the left one a little to stay with the gentle tones of the rest of the shot.
Ray: Thanks, Martin. I see your point, and thank you for this good advice.
Lovely ! nice composition
Ray: I am pleased you like this simple composition, jendayee.
It's just beautiful !!! I love this one and it's so shiny !!!
Ray: Sometimes, I think, weeds are more pretty than the cultivated flowers.
Thank you for your comment, Ann.
This green is really strange !
Ray: It is a very pretty plant...looks very delicate among the heavy greens of a lot of the weeds.
