Indian Roller
Panting from the extreme heat of the mid-day sun, the Indian Roller rests briefly on power lines beside the rice -fields; then, it departs rapidly with a flash of its extraordinarily handsome purple and blue wings.

"One day", I vow  "I will be capable enough with the camera to capture the astonishing sight of a Roller in flight".

Indian Rollers are quite large birds...nearly as big as a house crow...and have a very capable-looking beak for catching small lizards and snakes.
