Natural medicine
I think it might be an Echinacea, in which case the bee is probably well protected from the flu this season....the bee got all aggressive and possessive when I moved in close for a munch. [grin]

Pinsharp details....love the subtle tones in yellow.
Did you eat the flower after taking this shot?? Petra
Ray: Moved in for a nibble, but the bee started getting all agro! So I just took a deep breath, and moved on.
did he sting you Ray? lol.
beautiful image. mal
Ray: I am a dab hand at avaoiding bee stings, mal. I am very allergic, and could expire if I get a sting.
He's hiding out - planning another attack.Beautiful shot and the yellow is pure cheer.
Ray: That yellow is hard to ignore...I love it!
I was expecting another a saga about a hard life of a sex worker, but you picked the easy path of the alternative medicine. Very pleasant image, Ray, if not for a bit straight forward composition. Could've thought of something out of box, but I guess you didn't have much time.
Ray: [grin]
This photograph is the essence of spring with the lovely yellows...and the soft curves of the daisy's petals. I'd like a field of Echinacea.
Ray: It was quite a patch of them, Kathryn. I took a lot of pictures there.
Wow lovely shot Ray.Love the detail.
Ray: So pleased you like it, Tracy.
Ray I do hope the little thing did not sting you and give you a shot of 'medicine' I know you will not get flew than, this is some great use of DOF, the colors are just great, love the details!!!
Ray: I avoid stings, Astrid...I have a potentially deadly allergy.
What a lovely shot Ray. Great details And DOF
Ray: I was pretty pleased with this shot, Richard, even though it is not at all subtle.
the yellow here is absolutely wonderful...
Ray: yellow is my favourite colour for flowers...I am a sucker for them every time.
Fantastic colors, crisp and clear, perfect execution, but the rays from the other flower in the right tend to bother, also if the bee was facing the camera, would make it more impactful (hardly under your control though, understood).
Nice shot.
Ray: Hi Azhar. I appreciate your comments and ideas.
Actually, I have other pictures where the flower is standing alone, and where the bee is head on...overall, I preferred this one though...mainly for the quality of the background.
Absolutely cracking shot, with the exception of Azhars reall fussy point of the other flower
Ray: I am chuffed that you like this one, Nigel.
The colors and clarity on this photo are incredible. By far one of the best flower shots I've seen in a while...
What time of day did you take this shot? Incredible shot - well done! Making it better? How about a vertical shot of the same..
Ray: I believe it was close to midday. I have a couple of shots from overhead...like this one though for its background.
Nicely done, a light in this winter morning
beautiful closeup! not much to say, love that picture.
Ray: Thank you for your generous comment, Sune.
