The British Enfield Company sold manufacturing rights for the classic 350cc Enfield Bullet to a Chennai, India based company in 1957, before being absorbed into Triumph/Norton company in 1968.
Over time, the Chennai company changed the brand of their motorcycles products to "Royal Enfield", and has been successfully improving and manufacturing these lovely-looking vehicles ever since. The motorcycles are very popular in India, but are also exported in increasing numbers to many other countries.
