Flowerpecker

This tiny bird...even smaller than the Sunbird...was forageing near a Sunbird nest in a Guava tree outside our bedroom window. They are very shy, so I was delighted to make a couple of shots.

Très mignon ce petit oiseau.
Ray: C'est comme tu dis, Martine.
There is one bird I'm always trying to get a photo of - every single shot is a silhouette - ugh! So to get a decent shot of something you've been "hunting" must be a great feeling!!
Ray: I still have several of these challenges, Elizabeth, but was very pleased to make this shot.
Awwww. Little tweetie-pie!
Ray: Ha Ha...nice one, Ginnie.

What a delightful tiny bird - might it be a Warbler, or is it too small?
Ray: Smaller than a Warbler, Lisl.

It's surprising that something so small has all the necessary bits for life support and flight. Well done on the capture.
Ray: Thank you, Alan. These little birds usually have very short lives.

You did well to capture this shy little friend outside the window.
Ray: I was pleased with myself about this, Astrid.
Vraiment trop mignon ..bravo pour ta photo Ray
Ray: Merci, Claudine.

Good for you Ray!
Ray: I was pleased to get this shot, Chris.
Are we talking Wren sized or smaller Ray?
Ray: A little smaller than a Wren, Bill.

Maybe some kind of cisticola?
Ray: It might be one of those, Louis, but is called a Flowerpecker in Thailand.

This is a delightful photograph Ray and I take my hat (which I am not wearing) off to you.
Ray: Thank you, Chad...and I Dips Me Lid [which is also absent from my pate] to you.
Cute little thing isn't it.
Ray: Yes...it is that, Brian.
Are you sure it wasn't a Peeping Tom rather than a Flower Pecker
Ray: Ha Ha...very good, Martin.
I first thought of the sunbird.
Ray: Their peaks are quite different shapes, Mary.
Lucky you!
Ray: I was pleased, Tom.
