Bike Tour 2019 #21

School is out as we peddle slowly back to our Lodgings...the kids are friendly and generous with their greetings to us as they pass.

And the Watermellon Vender has set up, beside the mote, for her evening trade.

Jolies tenues pour les écolières. La petite fille est très mignonne.
Ray: Les uniformes scolaires sont considérés comme importants dans ces pays, Martine, et ils sont généralement très propres et intelligents!
the kid seems to be a bit distrustful, Ray grin i like his chubby wrist and fingers clutching the fruit
Ray: Koen might be the first Farang [Foreigner] she has ever seen up close, Ayush, and he is very tall like a Giant here. She has a firm grasp on her fruit.
The poor kid will have nightmares for years... ;-)
Ray: Mum will placate her with a Fairy Story, KK...something like...

"Look for one of these when you are old enough to marry, Little Daughter...they are called Farang, but a better name is Mobile ATM."
How nice!!
Watermelon is a super food - I hope you ate some!
Koen is funny!
Ray: Koen is good value as a travelling companion, Elizabeth...good humor, good communicator, respectful to Local people. But, do not let my know I said something nice about him or he will think I have become soft! smile

This clearly is the land of happy contented people

I wonder what their politics are like?
Ray: Their politics are seriously horrible, Chris...Their Prime Minister is an Ex Army General who's only interest seems to be in feathering his nest and those of his already rich friends. Their Kind is powerless.

Despite these challenges, these people are strong, resilient, positive-thinking, wonderful folks.
Une scène de rue très paisible ..
Ce bébé est impressionné , sourires ..
Ray: C'est un village de gens charmants, sympathiques et généreux, Claudine.
The school rucksack has become universal
Ray: Backpacks are sensible...leaves two hands free for fighting, hugging, etc.

I think you live in a very friendly country, Ray
Ray: I do, Lisl.

But, this is Cambodia, not Thailand.

As it turns out, Up-Country Cambodians seem very like Up-Country Thais!

We could learn a lot from these people about their lifestyles Ray.
Ray: Yes...in fact I learn a lot about many things by living in Up-Country Thailand [not far from where these Pics were made in Cambodia], Chad.

Of course, Ray - I had momentarily forgotten
Ray: In fact, Lisl, Na's ethnicity is Khmer.
The little one has never seen such curious animals smile
Ray: I think you have it, Tom! smile
Interesting to see these shots of everyday life, so different from our day to day scenes of life over here.
Ray: I could have shot scenes just like this in our Thailand Village, Brian...life is very different here!
beautiful people Ray... two nice pictures....petersmile
Ray: Friendly, smiling, happy people here, Peter.
Love the shot of the school children and that sweet baby could melt a heart.
Ray: It was a bonus ridding back into the village as school emptied out, Mary.
