Cycling Portfolio #04

Best to give the Water Buffalo right-of-way, when you are on a bike. They are kept in a barn at night, and walked to pasture each morning.

They are big animals, perhaps 50% heavier than beef cattle. The senior Female usually leads the herd. The babies are very attractive beasts.

The Human Minder [perhaps Owner] of the herd must have been concerned that his animals would take fright at me, as he signalled for me to stop riding until he had passed...in the video you can see him giving me a friendly greating, and he wanded to have a chat about my Country of Origin.

Une longue route pour le tout petit.
Ray: Il est assez étrange qu'ils aient construit le pont uniquement pour les marcheurs, les cyclistes et les motocyclistes, Martine.
Heavy traffic indeed!
Ray: I am in a scene like this 2 or 3 times a week, KK.
Impressive beasts Ray.
Ray: They are huge, pleasant animals, Frank, and I am happing to wait for them to pass.
Ummm.... yes !!!!
Nice video - very civil! smile
Ray: I meet many lovely people when I am riding, Elizabeth.

They are wonderful looking things Ray. Are these ever eaten or just kept for crop control?
Ray: There is a market for Buff Beef, Chris.
Impressionnante ces bêtes !
Ray: Oui ... ce sont les animaux les plus attirants, Claudine.
They have an air of quiet patience about them Ray
Ray: I am a big fan of these critters, Bill, and am pleased to see them on the road with me.

You must look quite scary on a bike to them, Ray
Ray: I wear a bright costume so that I am seen, Lisl, but this might alarm these beasts. Their minder was pleased I stoped for them.

They look to be quite place but I would imagine that they are very protective of their little ones.
Ray: If they get startled they can behave a little unpredictably, Alan...best to be caurtious.

I will Remember your advice if I ever come across such a herd Ray.
Ray: Good...stay safe, Chad!
Your journey through Thailand enriches me daily, Ray. I love my daily visits and enjoy meeting your local flora and fauna, even these big beasts . 🙂
Ray: Thank you for your most encouraging remarks, Care. Thailand is a wonderful country, but is little known apart from the somewhat seedy Tourist features.
They are fine looking animals, the calves are really cute.
Ray: I like Bovines a lot, Brian, and Water Buffalo seem to be the most attractive of all that group.
They certainly are biggies!
Ray: They are impressive animals, Tom.
Aw.. Who could imagine you causing alarm to any man or beast?
Ray: I am not an aggressive type at all, Graeme, but the Minder signaled to me to stop riding until his herd passed me, so I was happy to comply...perhaps he has had a bad experience in the past.
