Checking In to Fancy Digs...

all the timbre, especially the piece behind the counter, looks very opulent, Ray. and the floor tiles have a mirror finish to them almost.
Ray: The lobby is palatial, Ayush.
Heavens Ray, this is an imposing place!
Ray: Impressive...but, not my kind of place at all, Frank.
Some place, Ray! After what you've endured- you deserve a nice hot bath in an air conditioned room with a big fluffy bed!
Ray: That is about what we got, Elizabeth. It is not my kind of place, but I am pleased that we got it into the itinerary.
J'aime beaucoup le panneau en bois sur le mur.

You have definitely gone upmarket since dossing in a rather small oven the other day. This must be the Hotel de Posh..
Ray: It is quite other-worldly to find this place in such an isolated part of the world, Chris.
This is a bit of a change! Some very impressive woodwork
Ray: I loved the woodwork but still disliked the place, Bill.

Wow, staying in stile now Ray. What an incredible sculpture there.
Ray: It was so strange to find this place...so isolated and unreal, Chad.
Fancy indeed! Not your usual stopover, Ray! smile
Ray: I was, frankly, bisarre, Tom.
Now this is more like it, Ray. I would love to stay in fancy digs like you did here. That's quite an artistic looking hotel lobby.
Ray: This lobby was hugely impressive, Beverly.
Fancy for sure! Is the bird made of jade?
Ray: It is a mythical bird/lizard/human composit, called a Garuda, Mary, and made of bronze.
Somewhat different to your earlier accomodation.
Ray: Yes, Brian...a little different! smile
It was interesting as a contrast with our previous places of overnight, but that was all. Art was the last thing that came (& still comes!) into my mind when entering that ridiculously large (& empty) lobby. As for that sculpture, total kitsch, an exercise in poor taste like everything else in that hotel....
