Dog Man

Here is a short series on the just completed mini-tour I undertook with friends Tim and Koen. Tim and I are at sensitive stages in renewing our Visas at the moment, so we decided it might be prudent to not leave Thailand on this trip. Also, Tim has kindly offered to take us in his car, so we are not making use of budjet local transportation.

On a walk around Our Village...seven of our dogs decided they would come along for the adventure.

On my right, Spot, her daughter Soxxy, and Soxxy's 3 daughters get close to me as we are approaching a house where a couple of aggressive big dogs live. Behind me, Toby is making hard work of this walk...we have already walked 1km and he is feeling tired.

Koen made this, and several other, amusing shots of this stroll.

Jolis chiens heureux de se promener avec leurs maîtres. Bonne chance pour ton visa.
Ray: J'ai eu la chance d'avoir Koen avec moi pour enregistrer ce plan, Martin, car j'étais occupé avec mes chiens.
that really looks like a family outing, Ray. it is good that no leashes are involved - together, they might have dragged you all over the place. i look forward to other shots from this walk.
Ray: I was pleased that friend Koen was there to take the picture, Ayush.

Up-country dogs are let to run free...great for the dogs, but presents road hazards for cyclists...it was a collision with an unleashed dog that brought me undone! Also, many dogs are injured or billed on the roads.

Tomorrow I will move on to highlights of our Tour.
Very sweet! I look forward to the rest of the series!
Ray: I mad were little to do with dogs for the first about 70 years of my life, Elizabeth. In truth I still prefer cats, but I have learned to appreciate the quite complex nature of the social rules in the lives of dogs.

On this walk I am Alpha! smile
Good to see you going strong, Ray. Your dogs are clearly enjoying this adventure.
Ray: "Going Strong" is a relative term, Ginnie. I am struggling to regain the levels of fitness [mental and physical] I enjoyed prior to my cycling incident, and still have some way to travel on this journey. However, with Na's strong support, I am making progress and life is good.

Ray: In Na's absence the dogs recognize me as First Dog, Chris, and are happy in the knowledge that I will protect them from harm.

If Na was on the walk then the dogs would be gathered around her.

You look like some sort of Pied Piper Ray. Good luck with the visa renewL.
Ray: On this walk I am Alpha Dog, Chad.

The Visa process is progressing, so I am hopeful it will turn our OK.

I hope the Visa comes fast. I know how that feels.
I read your replies about the dogs and your health. I am glad that Koen took some pictures of the stroll.
Ray: I was delighted with this shot from Koen, Astrid.

Pleased to se you out and about, Ray. I think Toby has had too much of the good life living in your place.the others seem happy for you to look after them as they get towards the big dogs.
Ray: Toby new fully recovered from the dislocated big he had when we got him, Alan, so cannot exercise as much as the others and also has the Pit Bull tendency to eat everything...but he did manage the 2 km walk.

The 6 girls are extremely fit and active.
Invasion of dogs & 3 farangs....
Ray: Ha Ha

Yes...that mature Age Thai Lady in the distance had never seen anything quite like it, and will probably talk to her friends about it for weeks, KK.

This is a wonderful image. Great too se you on the mend ..let’s hope the visa renewal doesn’t stress you too much...
Ray: Thank you, Richard.

I brought on some of my Visa woes by forgetting [consequence of my Brain Trauma] a main prerequisite which meant I had to restart the entire process from scratch after about 10 years of smooth routine. It is slowly coming together.
Spot is saying, "Please protect us, Papa."
Ray: We have far too many dogs, but it is great fun to observe how they organize their pack. If Na was with us then she would be recognized as Alpha Dog...in her absence, I am it!
Good to see you on the move Ray but certainly wise not to leave the country at the moment, it must be quite a worry renweing Visas. We have a New Zealand lady at church who has been married to her English husband for at least 45 years but she still has to renew her visa every so often and with the U.K.authorities it can be quite a procedure!
Ray: Retirement Visa must be renewed each year, Brian...it is usually easy enough but I made it difficult by forgetting a key precondition which resulted in my having to leave the country for a while.
I hope your visa is renewed OK Ray!
Ray: It will work out, Bill...I am now past the most difficult step.
Une sortie en belle compagnie ...bonne chance pour ton visa
Ray: C'est amusant de marcher avec les chiens, mais pas tellement amusant de se débattre avec les problèmes de Visa, Claudine.
They all look pretty happy.
Ray: The girls enjoy these outings, Tom.
