When I grow up I shall become a beautiful flying gem...then you might have more respect and feeling for me.

fairly stunning now Ray, probably becomes a bland butterfly
Ray: Perhaps...we'll see tomorrow, Zed.
Looks like colourful train smile
Ray: Now that you mention it, Delia, I can see that too.
An eating machine
Ray: Like an adolescent boy, and all spotty like one, too.

Actually you're quite pretty (alright: striking) now!
Ray: Must taste bad, or the birds would take them all.
Attention seeker .... ;-)

richard
Ray: Not quite consistent with that desire to make it to that big, life-changing event, heh!
So long as he avoids being eaten Ray.
Ray: Perhaps all those colourful spots are an international code for "Don't try to eat me 'cos I taste bad"?
They are beautiful when hatched..but a gardeners nightmare like this. Great macro Ray.
Ray: Thanks, Ron. I tried to get a good angle to highlight its more handsome features.
Looks like it will become an eagle it's so big!
Ray: Now that is an interesting thought...what if birds were grubs in their previous, non-flying phase...

A colourful eating machine
Ray: Certainly they like their tucker, Vintage.
Well, you are now slimy and eat my plants.
Ray: I suppose there are a few aspects of my resume that do not seem positive to some folks, Mary...but, I make it up later.
nice...
sorta looks sticky..
Ray: The sheen on its skin does make it appear that way, Rob.
Looks as if he is getting ready to make a meal of the leaf he's on, Ray. His current colors make him quite visible and an easy target to spot. Perhaps he should stay away from the green stuff.
Ray: I am guessing the colours are a coded message to birds that he tastes bad, Beverly, otherwise he would be an easy target.
This is a very colourful creature Ray.
Ray: Nature's make-up artist got a little carried away here, Brian.

nothing has changed, Ray, you are still consistently great!
Ray: Thanks, Jennie, and you are still very kind.

Great to see you back.

i have enough respect and feeling for you now...being all in my face and all...
Ray: Grubs get so much bad press, DrAjao...but, what is a few holes in the lettuce when you are blessed with such a handsome visitor.
You're kidding yourself, Ray - when you grow up you'll be just like this smile
Ray: Gee, Tom...do you think so? [grin]
to a half blind man this looks very good as well
Ray: [big grin]

You are a very kind half-blind Man, Derek, and I appreciate your comment.
