Big Brudder

Traffic control technology deployed in the Lane.

It could do with a bit of maintenance but, what the heck, no-one pays any attention to it anyway...

Too bad no one pays attention- It's nice and shiny! I'm easily distracted by shiny things!
Ray: I might be the only person who has given polite attention to this oldie in years, Elizabeth. In fact, a security guard from the nearby apartment complex came running up because she thought I had been hurt as I was squatting down in the road to make this "masterpiece"...she was very confused when she realised what I was doing.
It's an interesting shot Ray... but this is nothing like the speed bumps that they install at the shopping centers over here....petersmile
Ray: Sure, Peter...but this is no crass speed-hump...this is a regal cats-eye lane marker!

They have speed humps here, too, and folks tend to use them as launching ramps for car jumps!

All I could think of was even the cateyes have to duck/hide!
Ray: This one has taken many direct blows from car tyres, Ginnie, and its eyes have fallen out.

I'm sure he will be overwhelmed Ray
Ray: It ain't gutteridge, Chris, but could be regarded as part of the great transportation reticulation system that castes a web over our pretty blue planet.

Chad will appreciate this, Ray
Ray: That will be nice, Lisl.
This will move Chad close to tears I am sure Ray
Ray: I can just imagine him blubbering all weekend, and missing the Olympic Closing Ceremony, Bill.

Wow this is a monster Ray. I am glad that you are on the look out for stuff like this.
Ray: I saw it one day and immediately thought "One day Chad will do something deserving of recognition and so I shall use a picture of this wounded but polished road art as a dedication".

...or something like that...
A ground switch.
Ray: A species that seems to have migrated to most countries, Juan Carlos.
I'm lost, not lost for words, just lost.
Ray: I get like that sometimes, when I am in a place where all the road signs are in Thai, Mary.

A Thai Cateye! What a surprise!
Ray: Just an empty socket now, Philine, as the eyes have fallen out...the car tyres keep it nicely polished, though.

Oh no, don't you start too!
Ray: Just a one-off, Louis...I promise it will not become a habit.
So what does this actually pretend to control Ray
Ray: This is whats left of the line down the centre of the lane where I live, Brian...no-one pays any attention to it at all.
Looks like a pretty half-hearted attempt at control!
Ray: That pretty much sums up road traffic control in this country, Tom.
Asians cat's eyes are differents from ours Ray!
Ray: This one has lost its eyes, Richard.

A fine tribute to such a revered champion of these humble devices.
Ray: I am confident Chad will be secretly chuffed about it, Alan.
A Catseye with no eyes?
Ray: Its an oldie, Graeme, and its eyes have fallen out as it is usually run over rather than run beside.
