Grass Flower

Tiny, but exquisite, flowers from a species of grass...resting on the fabric of my shorts to give some sense of scale.

Oh my goodness - I thought perhaps it was carpet, but it's even finer than that... beautiful!
Ray: These flowers are invisible to me unless I use magnifying technologies, Elizabeth.
It is a very tiny flower Ray and a wonderful shot...
but why do you wear woolen underwear when you live in a tropics grin
....petersmile

[grin]
Ray: Its a form of self-flagellation, Peter, to remind me to keep my thoughts and behaviours pure...

So many minute beauties are overlooked because we can't see them properly - so thank you, Ray!
Ray: You are welcome, Lisl...I am delighted that I am not alone in admiring this World of Small.

Thank you for showing the small world again. Amazing what our eyes cannot see.
Ray: I find myself increasingly attracted to this World of Small, Astrid...it is a wonderful place.

In other words, almost microscopic! Beautiful, Ray.
Ray: They are beautiful, Ginnie...and, I cannot see them unless I augment my eyesight.
Perfection in miniature Ray
Ray: Ha Ha

...and, you should see what is inside my shorts, Bill...

Your shorts appear to be made out of door matting Ray. Is this some form of self punishment?
Ray: My shorts are made from woven coconut fibre and horse-hair, Chadridge...I have a permanent embarrassing rash in the crotch region...mature and experienced gals have been known to faint or run screaming from the boudoir...

These are VERY small aren't they!

The flowers not the shorts
Ray: You seem to have it accurately observed, Chris.

It could be you have very knobbly shorts, of course, and these flowers are really 12 inches across smile
Ray: I do have very knobbly...umh...knees, Alan, but my shorts are knobless.

Your shorts look like a carpet - a beautiful, precious looking flower.
Ray: As my shorts are actually from finely woven trouser material, Philine, I believe it indicates how small these flowers are.

I love the very top where the seed casing has burst. You probably spread a few seeds onto your shorts.
Ray: Grass flowers are spectacular, Mary, but very, very small things.

[I deny that I am in the habit of spilling seed onto my shorts... smile ]

do you ever wear long trousers Ray
Ray: Not often, Richard...working in Singapore at the moment and getting away with wearing shorts most days.
There seems to be rather a lot of comments about the knobs in shorts Ray, I will be careful not to mention them, because you must be getting near the ultimate close-up possible with a standard camera and lens.
Ray: You have done well to keep out of that fraught area of commentary, Brian.

I placed a 25mm barrel between the 100mm lens and the camera, and so had to remove the lens hood as it was knocking the grass when I tried to focus.
love pink and I like how you have treated this image...
Ray: Thank you, Aderonke.
Tiny little flowers!
Ray: They are very small, Tom.
Tiny is a small word Ray! What a capture.
Ray: Thank you, Richard.
