photoblog image Reservoir

Reservoir

A reservoir, not far from the border between Thailand and Cambodia.

I am standing on the earthern dam wall, looking South to Cambodia.

The bottom picture is from me turning 180 degrees...the rainforest is dense here.

you have shown us two lovely views from the spot you were in, Ray. the clouds might make a contribution to the reservoir soon.
Ray: Being Monsoon season, it is raining almost every day, Ayush.
A fine sky sets this off perfectly Ray
Ray: The skies are quite gorgeous at this time of year, Bill.

Oh, what a green world! The first photo could be in Europe, - the second one shows a quite different world.
Ray: The jungle [Tropical Rainforest] is an impenetrable wall of green, Philine.

Well hopefully all concerned can share the water without resorting to fisticuffs..
Ray: I expect this Thai dam stops water from its natural inclination to tumble down the escarpment and into Cambodia, Chris.

I would not turn my back to the rainforest; there could be all sorts of blood-sucking, limb-tearing creatures just viewing you now as a mid-morning snack. Does the water level vary much?
Ray: Ha Ha

There are still wild Tigers in the tropical rainforests of Thailand, Alan...they are more your typical limb-tearers!
This is quite a large reservoir Ray!
I quite like the green wall on your bottom picture.
Ray: Tropical Rainforests are very impressive areas, Richard.
That is dense forest, almost impenetrable I would think
Ray: You can forget about trying to stroll through there during the wet season when the vines and creepers are robust, Martin.
Ray of the jungle or Ray of the earthen dam wall. Do people swim here?
Ray: On the only visit I have made, Mary, I didn't see any swimmers. However, young kids will look for water whenever they are hot.
That's quite a mass of water!
Ray: It is not huge, Tom, but quite a respectable size.
I like the blockade of green forest image.
Ray: Tropical Rainforest is dense, especially during the wet season when high temperatures and copious rainfall give optimal conditions for growth.
