photoblog image Legless Quarry

Legless Quarry

At the edge of the rice field I found some flowering grass...I sat on my three-legged stool...steadied myself with elbows jammed onto knees to make a kind of bio - tripod ...pointed the eosM down at the flower...fiddled with the focus a bit, then shot!

Perhaps I am beginning to get some idea of how to obtain results from this little toy. ..

Superbe macro, j'aime beaucoup les couleurs.
Ray: Ceci est une herbe exquise , Martine .
You are obtaining magnificent results Ray, what a fine flower you have here. Could you not use a monopod to take with you?
Ray: I like all grass flowers, Chad, but this one especially.
I'd say that's an understatement, Ray - you're getting amazing results with that thing!
Ray: Aside from ergonomic challenges, Elizabeth, it is a fine camera and I like that I can use my good lenses on it.

I would say you are not having any problem with it at all, Ray
Ray: Success rate much lower than when I use a dSLR body, Lisl.

And it was well worth all that effort Squire: a fine image indeed
Ray: Grass is lovely stuff, Chris, andi hope this image illustrates that claim.

AS I've always said, it's not the camera that makes the shot. Such a pretty little thing (not you - the flower). DO you have a tripod?
Ray: I have a rather nice Manfrotto tripod hibernating in a cupboard somewhere.

Do I understand that it's your birthday today? If so, happy birthday!
Ray: Thank you, Alan.
I don't see you are having any problem at all.
Ray: A much higher rubbish-rate, Mary, but i do feel I am beginning to get the hang of the eosM.

Ginnie has such a toy and she loves it. This little blu thing looks like a birthday hat. Happy Birthday Ray and celebrate in style smile
Ray: Foldable 3 leged stools are a great camera acceasory, Astrid.
A fine shot Ray, I'm presuming it hasn't got a viewfinder so you can ram it against your face to avoid shake. BTW happy birthday, Maureen also celebrates her birthday today.
Ray: Correct, Brian.

Thank you, and please wish Maureen the best from me.

The toy and you are amounting to a great combination. Excellent.
Ray: As usual, Louis, it turns out that the tool was fine but the operator needed a lot of practice!

The lad done good
Ray: You are very kind, Bill.
Excellent shot, Ray, proving it ain't what you use, it's the way you use it...
Ray: I am certainly coming around to this view, Frank, and am taking more and more pics with the toy cam in the Samsung tablet.
you did great with your stool and your human tripod Ray... i couldn't get a shot like this looking through a screen... but i have a stool that i carry around the garden for this purpose....petersmile
Ray: I was happy with the sharpness, Peter, so figured the "tripod" worked ok.
stunning colours, Ray. the edge of the rice field has livened up this post
Ray: Thank you, Ayush. The edge of the field is very interesting.
A feathery lovely.
Ray: I love grass flowers, Jacquelyn.
Great focus point here Ray!
Ray: Thank you, Richard.
