Inside the main building of wat hua lampong, in Bangkok. The upper parts of all walls are covered in an elaborate fresco, depicting a morality tale with an eccentric mix of scenes.
Folks in the foreground are engaged in acts of merit-making; probably they are attempting a personal dialogue with Buddha, with a view to enhancing their good fortune, well-being or happiness.
First of a short series of posts to show some of the art inside this building.
There are 32,000+ Buddhist temples [wats] in Thailand, and many are richly decorated.
This series was inspired by a wonderful series from Zebigleb [ http://imaginerf.shutterchance.com/photoblog/Global_view_/ ] on a Rivera fresco he photographed in Mexico.
